If you go museum hopping in Karlovy Vary, be prepared for some surprises.
Head for the famous Jan Becher Museum where you can watch a video on the production and aging of the world famous Becherovka, a herbal liqueur that has alleged strong medicinal properties. The guided tour (provided in six languages) includes a tour of the cellar, an examination of the production techniques and an exhibition of historical pieces relating to the production of Becherovka. Another museum you might consider visiting is the Karlovy Vary Museum. This museum is a history museum, tracing the town’s history from its early days to current times. The history of the town is presented via exhibitions and photographs, and labels are printed in English as well as other languages. Other exhibits include the history of industry in the area, various popular activities and local flora and fauna.
