* My boyfriend and I booked a last minute weekend getaway to Atlanta, GA in November. I could have not had a better experience. From the airport we took the MARTA which is the name of their public transportation. A few stops later we got off at Buckhead. From Buckhead the hotel was literally about a 5 minute walk away. The hotel is located on Peachtree Rd but the trick is that it isnt exactly on the street. When u get out of the station, exit on your right and stay on that side of the street. As you are walking you will come upon a street that bears to the right. Walk down that street (it is a slight hill) and you will see the Marriott.
As soon as you walk in, you will see the front desk to your right. There is a sitting area directly in front with a nice fireplace, couches, and plenty of magazines and daily newspapers. There is also a resaurant but I don't remember the name and I didnt eat there. The front desk staff are super friendly and helpful. We got there early so I thought I would be charged a fee to check-in but they simply gave us a room that was available- no fee.
The hotel offers a free shuttle within a certain mile radius to the hotel which is great. There really is no need to rent a car if you dont mind taking the train, shuttles or walking. If you're into shopping the shuttle will drop you off at Phipps Plaza and Lenox Square Mall which are both nearby.
The room in my opinion was great. It was clean and spacious. It was cleaned everyday while we were there and fresh towels were provided. The bathroom was also very clean. In a room is the toilet and shower/bathtub and right outside was the sink to brush your teeth. The bed was big and cozy. The linens were fresh and the heat and air-conditioner worked perfectly fine.
The room came with a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. *TIP* If you want to visit on a budget, pack some canned drinks and microwavable food and you will be sure to save some money, although I suggest eating out.
The room also had a tv with not too many channels to choose from it didnt matter to me. I was out exploring all day so I didnt mind. If you end up staying in, they offer movie channels you can purchase, like anywhere else.
This hotel has an indoor pool. On their website it looks really small but it wasnt bad at all. If your into exercise it is big enough to swim laps. The water is heated which was a plus since it was cold outside. Right in front of the pool they have a heated jacuzzi. The control is against the wall which you control the timer to how many minutes you want it to stay on.
The hotel and staff were superb. My experience was great and I would definitely recommend it to anyone as well as stay there again!
