WOW! There is so much to say about our time at the Azalea Inn. My wife and I stayed there the first week of August. First off, we met Jeffrey. He was very nice, fun to talk to, and very accommodating. Jeffrey made us feel welcome right off the bat. He always gave good directions. When I informed him that my wife hadn't been feeling all that well, and hadn't eaten anything substantial in a couple days, he fixed up a nice bowl of blueberries for her. By that evening she was back to feeling good. He also served our breakfast at our patio when we requested. Awesome Food! The shrimp and grits were amazing, as were the fruit filled crepes. I'm a big snack person, and every night around 7 there was a new snack in the dining room. Cookies, Carrot Cakes, Brownies. mmmm. Cassandra relieved Jeffrey every day around 3. She was super nice as well. She took pictures of my wife and I many times and never seemed annoyed by it. (we took a lot of pictures) She also made our reservations for dinner when reservations were requred. We asked her where she reccomended eating, and said Jazz'd. It was a home run. Wonderful food, music, and people. The wonderful canines, Joey and Ben, were a lot of fun, and never any trouble. We really miss Joey. Although we didn't get to see Eleanor every day, she was very sweet as well. Theresa was out of town for most of our stay. When we did finally get to meet her, she lived up to her name on trip advisor as a wonderful host, and excellent owner. All were fun to talk to. Jake was very busy in the yard, and his hard work pays off. The gardens and landscaping are brilliant. The pool was perfect. 87 degrees. Clean. Perfect size. We spent a lot of time relaxing in it. There were always clean towels by the pool. We stayed in the Cotton Exchange. It was amazing. Beautiful decor, awesome jetted jacuzzi, and a nice shower. The bed was so comfortable. Miss Betty did a fine job, and was very sweet. We talked to her a few times, and she was always very nice, and was full of compliments. She's adorable. Max the cat was always sleeping. He has the life. Sleeping by the pool, sleeping in the shade, sleeping on the porch. He is open for petting, but doesn't come up and ask for it. The parking is very nice. And even though you see some rough neighborhoods on your way in, rest assured that you and your car are safe at the Azlea Inn. When we first arrived, I too thought uh oh, looks like we're close to the hood. Within hours, I realized that it was as safe as where I live. Even when I'd pass what looked to be a homeless person on the sidewalk, I was never asked once for change. The Kroger grocery store is just 2 blocks away, which came in very handy. It is a pleasant and safe walk there. This definately was our best B&B experience ever. We will go back for sure. We already miss them! The only people I could imagine that wouldn't like this place are people who are impossible to please regardless of how things go. So if your wife or husband is a typical complainer, stay at the Hilton, everyone else, stay at the Azalea Inn.
