WOW! There is so much to say about our time at the Azalea Inn. My wife and I stayed there the first week of August. First off, we met Jeffrey. He was very nice, fun to talk to, and very accommodating. Jeffrey made us feel welcome right off the bat. He always gave good directions. When I informed him that my wife hadn't been feeling all that well, and hadn't eaten anything substantial in a couple days, he fixed up a nice bowl of blueberries for her. By that evening she was back to feeling good. He also served our breakfast at our patio when we requested. Awesome Food! The shrimp and grits were amazing, as were the fruit filled crepes. I'm a big snack person, and every night around 7 there was a new snack in the dining room. Cookies, Carrot Cakes, Brownies. mmmm. Cassandra relieved Jeffrey every day around 3. She was super nice as well. She took pictures of my wife and I many times and never seemed annoyed by it. (we took a lot of pictures) She also made our reservations for dinner when reservations were requred. We asked her where she reccomended eating, and said Jazz'd. It was a home run. Wonderful food, music, and people. The wonderful canines, Joey and Ben, were a lot of fun, and never any trouble. We really miss Joey. Although we didn't get to see Eleanor every day, she was very sweet as well. Theresa was out of town for most of our stay. When we did finally get to meet her, she lived up to her name on trip advisor as a wonderful host, and excellent owner. All were fun to talk to. Jake was very busy in the yard, and his hard work pays off. The gardens and landscaping are brilliant. The pool was perfect. 87 degrees. Clean. Perfect size. We spent a lot of time relaxing in it. There were always clean towels by the pool. We stayed in the Cotton Exchange. It was amazing. Beautiful decor, awesome jetted jacuzzi, and a nice shower. The bed was so comfortable. Miss Betty did a fine job, and was very sweet. We talked to her a few times, and she was always very nice, and was full of compliments. She's adorable. Max the cat was always sleeping. He has the life. Sleeping by the pool, sleeping in the shade, sleeping on the porch. He is open for petting, but doesn't come up and ask for it. The parking is very nice. And even though you see some rough neighborhoods on your way in, rest assured that you and your car are safe at the Azlea Inn. When we first arrived, I too thought uh oh, looks like we're close to the hood. Within hours, I realized that it was as safe as where I live. Even when I'd pass what looked to be a homeless person on the sidewalk, I was never asked once for change. The Kroger grocery store is just 2 blocks away, which came in very handy. It is a pleasant and safe walk there. This definately was our best B&B experience ever. We will go back for sure. We already miss them! The only people I could imagine that wouldn't like this place are people who are impossible to please regardless of how things go. So if your wife or husband is a typical complainer, stay at the Hilton, everyone else, stay at the Azalea Inn.

We haved stayed at many B & Bs and the Azalea Inn is overpriced for what you get. Our room while pretty, was in need of repair. There were missing tiles in the fireplace, the bathroom sink was very low (in fact I have nere seen such a short sink) the furniture in some cases was battered. The tub must have been installed by a handyman. There were huge gaps on either side of the tub that no one had bothered to repair and the faucet and handle moved around alarmingly. The paint job in the bathroom looked like a young child had gotten into the paint. The attention to detail was sorely lacking. When you charge over $200 a room, I would think the standards would be much higher. I learned a valuable lesson after staying at this place - stick with Select Registry B & Bs and Inns.

Here is the response we wrote to the posters of this review for which we are grateful. I am hoping that anyone who reads this review will consider the changes that are being made as I write.

Thank you for choosing Azalea Inn for your recent getaway to beautiful Savannah. I wanted to let you know that your comments on trip advisor did not fall on deaf ears. We have had a renovation planned for the past eight months, and had chosen August as it is usually our slowest month. Today is the first day of a two-week shutdown while we redo all the upstairs bathrooms, all five! The whirlpool tubs in Chinaberry Balcony and Forsyth Place are being replaced with jetted-air tubs and all new sinks, tiles, etc are going in. We have a crew here round the clock for the next two weeks and please keep your fingers crossed that all goes well.

You could not have been more accurate in your depiction of "put in by a handyman." which I think is generous for the way the first owner did the work throughout the inn. When we purchased this home it was an inn in decline and we have put a lot of thought into the plan of attack to repair and replace and renovate the home. First up was a new roof, new paint inside and out, new fence, new gardens, new air conditioner. We immediately ramped up the breakfast menu from continental to full breakfast and added the wine and hors d'oeuvres and evening cookies/dessert.

I hope once all is done that you may consider a stay with us in the future. Part of our goal is to become AAA certified and a member of Select Registry.

Once again, thank you so much for being delightful guests. You have enriched our lives.

Warm regards,

Teresa, Jake, Jeffery, Cassandra, Eleanor and Miss Betty

From check in to check out our visit was perfect.Teresa the owner was on hand at all times ,as well as Joey her right arm and public relations hit with all the guests.Joey is a very small 2 lb. doggie whose primary duty is to Meet and Greet all visitors.
Jeffery the chef prepared the most tasty breakfasts and snacks.
The grounds are the most beautiful of any B&B in savannah. The pool was a welcome site after a day of sightseeing and walking.
The staff was friendly and our room was kept clean and fresh every day.The Oak Canapy Room was a plus.It was quiet, overlooked the pool and gardens and our private balcony was peaceful and private and surrounded by the trees.

We highly reccomend this B&B while visiting Savannah It's close to all the parks,a short walk to forsythe park and shopping and local eateries.

I stayed at the Azalea with a group of friends for a girls' weekend in Savannah. Teresa and her staff took great care of us and were nothing but accommodating and welcoming. This charming inn is conveniently located to downtown and Forsyth Park. The food was excellent and pool in the backyard made for a nice escape from the summer heat. If you're looking for a relaxing get-away with fantastic hospitality, this is the place for you. I recommend it highly!

A must stop while in Savannah, the grounds are well kept and the plants and flowers are just beautiful.
Teresa is on hand to ensure that your stay is perfect. We had great breakfast and good conversations with staff and other guests. Free parking available in the lot next to the inn makes it convenient to drive downtown to dinner. During the day, it's perfect for enjoying the sights of Savannah by foot.
We will stay here again and reccomend the Azalea Inn to all of our friends.
