We haved stayed at many B & Bs and the Azalea Inn is overpriced for what you get. Our room while pretty, was in need of repair. There were missing tiles in the fireplace, the bathroom sink was very low (in fact I have nere seen such a short sink) the furniture in some cases was battered. The tub must have been installed by a handyman. There were huge gaps on either side of the tub that no one had bothered to repair and the faucet and handle moved around alarmingly. The paint job in the bathroom looked like a young child had gotten into the paint. The attention to detail was sorely lacking. When you charge over $200 a room, I would think the standards would be much higher. I learned a valuable lesson after staying at this place - stick with Select Registry B & Bs and Inns.

Thank you for choosing Azalea Inn for your recent getaway to beautiful Savannah. I wanted to let you know that your comments on trip advisor did not fall on deaf ears. We have had a renovation planned for the past eight months, and had chosen August as it is usually our slowest month. Today is the first day of a two-week shutdown while we redo all the upstairs bathrooms, all five! The whirlpool tubs in Chinaberry Balcony and Forsyth Place are being replaced with jetted-air tubs and all new sinks, tiles, etc are going in. We have a crew here round the clock for the next two weeks and please keep your fingers crossed that all goes well.
You could not have been more accurate in your depiction of "put in by a handyman." which I think is generous for the way the first owner did the work throughout the inn. When we purchased this home it was an inn in decline and we have put a lot of thought into the plan of attack to repair and replace and renovate the home. First up was a new roof, new paint inside and out, new fence, new gardens, new air conditioner. We immediately ramped up the breakfast menu from continental to full breakfast and added the wine and hors d'oeuvres and evening cookies/dessert.
I hope once all is done that you may consider a stay with us in the future. Part of our goal is to become AAA certified and a member of Select Registry.
Once again, thank you so much for being delightful guests. You have enriched our lives.
Warm regards,
Teresa, Jake, Jeffery, Cassandra, Eleanor and Miss Betty
