My husband and I recently stayed in the Radisson Warwick hotel In Philadelphia, PA (Sept. 19th – 22nd) and, by far, it was the worst experience in a hotel that either one of us have encountered.
To their credit, the hotel appearance and valet doormen were superb. Our room was clean and very modern.
However, several problems occurred during our visit. Upon arrival, we were not offered to have our bags delivered to our room which is a typiclal service of a 4 star hotel and was offered to many other guests who checked in at the same time.
Friday evening, the building was evacuated due to a fire alarm. Not that big of a deal, but the problem was that no apologies were given from management or staff. Still, no big deal.
Things got progressively worse from there. The housekeeping staff stole our “Do Not Disturb” sign twice and was incredibly rude to my husband when he instructed them that we did not need housekeeping during our stay. Worst of all, because there was no do not disturb sign, a gentlemen on their staff, without even knocking, opened the door to our room. At the time, my husband and I were trying to take a nap after running in the local half marathon that weekend. The actual action of opening a guest door without knocking is bad enough, but most importantly, I was undressed at the time. Instead of averting his eyes, he continued to look into our room while he was apologizing. I feel unbelievably violated and embarrassed. If we could have changed our flight to leave that day, we would have.
To make matters worse, I call downstairs to report the incident and although they were apologetic, I was asked by management, “What would you like us to do?” Obviously, I was in a state of shock and shaken by the incident so nothing came to mind other than replacing the tag. Other than the initial apology, no gesture or concern was given by staff or management to make amends.
That evening, my husband spoke to one of the desk staff members to make arrangements for an airport shuttle the next morning. He assured us it would be taken care of. My husband went downstairs later that evening to make sure, and he had forgotten! At this time, my husband requested that the staff member make the arrangements right then and there. My husband also asked this same staff member to put us on the list for a 4:30 wake up call.
Monday morning came, no wake up call, and we overslept. We almost missed our flight. During check out, my husband asked the staff member on duty if we were on the list for a wake-up call that morning and again, the staff member from the previous evening forgot us again!
Please don't stay there for your own safety and well being. There are far more other wonderful hotels in the area that are more worthly of your business!!!!
