As far as the room and location goes, this is a perfectly average hotel. Our room was okay with some nice amenities including a sleep better CD, earplugs, and general tips for a restful night. The area has a number of restaurants and easy access to I-76.

Check-in and out went smoothly. We booked through a third party service. Thus began a saga that is currently two weeks into being settled. No mention was made of any problems while at the hotel. When I get my credit card statement, I see I was charged a second time for the room even though I had paid the third party directly. I was given some mumbo jumbo about not accepting the voucher from the other company. They had no interest in making it right and told me to take it up with the booking agency.

I have called them and they seem to be able to get it resolved after many phone calls and back and forths with this clueless establishment. So the moral of the story is either book with the hotel directly, or better yet stay somewhere else.

“unfriendly staff, but nice comfortable decent rooms”

Crowne Plaza Philadelphia Main Line

May 25, 2008

We spent our last night of our trip in this hotel.
The front desk was understaffed so there was a long wait checking in, the greeting by the front desk was not friendly at to our surprise.
Nevertheless after entering our room we found the rooms very comfortable, well furnished, clean and well equiped.
The location is actually not all that bad, you're only 10 minutes away from downtown Philly and the Manayunk area is well equiped with nice restaurants and bars, really worth while discovering.
We had a comfortable night there, slept really well, (and we didn't even try the sleep enhancing cd) the bed is excellent.
This is a good value for money hotel, it's just unfortunate that the front desk staff is so unfriendly.

Went to visit my son in Philly over Mother's Day, and this hotel was closest to his apartment. The hotel was small and nothing special, but did have free parking. The rooms were dreary and very average. What was totally outrageous is the Mother's Day brunch. They charged $30 per person for the most pitiful "spread" I've ever seen. I spoke with the manager and told him I felt cheated. He did take $30 off the bill for the three of us. There were only 3 tables of customers which should have tipped me off to the "robbery" that was taking place. Won't stay here next time.

“Not too bad.....but...”

Crowne Plaza Philadelphia Main Line

May 10, 2008

I was a little disappointed that my room had water stains on the ceiling-bed was fluffy-lots of pillows-towels were a little dingy but bathroom clean and lots of hot water. There aren't microwaves in the rooms or any area to warm up food/leftovers.Renovation obviously didnt go up to my floor-the 8th floor. The ice machine was broken and very poor lighting in the halls. There was a littlecoffee maker but 1pack of coffee and 1powdered creamer/sugar. I went downstairs to the lobby to ask for more coffee/creamer packs-I was very taken aback by the sarcastic remark made by the front desk clerk that she "didnt have coffee behind the counter"I gave up and got dressed and went to Starbucks-The parking was free but try to park as close to the front of hotel as possible. I checked my email on one of the computers located in the business center-nice enough pool and fitness room-Lobby waiting area art-deco theme with large flat panel tv-No free breakfast however.all in all not too bad-they just need to improve on their customer service--When checking out I was a little surprised that I wasnt asked for my room keys or how was my stay or even a come back again-the surrounding area has really improved-there's a TGIF,Starbucks,Asian Wei Pei restaurant-I would stay there again but ask for a renovated room.

“Find another hotel, anything BUT this one.”

Crowne Plaza Philadelphia Main Line

Apr 30, 2008

The best thing about this hotel is the friendly staff, but it stops there. The rooms are small and dirty. There was so much dust under the air conditioner/heating unit that we thought the capet had turned white. The curtain rod was broken. For our entire three day stay a used orange juice glass sat on the floor outside the door of a room down the hall. The breakfast in the restaurant was almost inedible. The coffee was luke warm and tasted as if it was from the bottom of the pot. When I called for the reservation I asked for a connecting room with a friend. I was told there would be no problem. When I arrived and inquired about the room I was told there was no connecting room but we were right next door to each other. It turns out she was down and across the hall. When I complained, I was told that was all they had (but the hotel hardly seemed crowded). The last straw was my last night. At midnight I went to the bathroom and flushed. The toilet overflowed. Once it stopped running, I used every available towel to soak up the lake on the floor. I went downstairs and spoke to the night manager. He instructed another worker (who said 'this happens all the time' to get the plunger and follow me upstairs. (I asked for an extra set of towels too since all of mine were on the floor.) We got to my room, the worker plunged the toilet and left. He neither took any of the fouled towels nor mopped the floor. I complained the next day to the day manager. Do NOT stay at this hotel! I took a chance after reading some old reviews on this site. It had mentioned a removation. I had thought it would be OK. Was I wrong!
