“Great Experience at a Reasonable Price”

Embassy Suites Hotel Philadelphia-Center City

Aug 13, 2008

Our family had a great stay at this hotel. The location was perfect. It was easy to find and its proximity to a very high end hotel and cultural attractions made it a gem...and a terrific value. At night, we walked across the street for cocktails and live music at a very luxurious property. The signature Embassy Suite breakfast buffet did not disappoint us at all. The omlet chef is awesome and the other breakfast offerings were plentiful and diverse. The 'icing' was the patio seating option. On the weekends, go to breakfast early....between 6:30 and 8 a.m. It gets a little conjested around 8:30. If you can afford it and want to make your stay 'special', upgrade to a room with a balony and a city view....they are both wonderful. The other amenities were nice...washer/dryer, business center and sundries shop...all on the property. The property was finishing up its renovations when we were there. The final touches will make the property even better. If you are used to Embassy Suites atrium construction, this property is not built to that model. It has more of an apartment/dorm suite feel. However, the rooms are much more spacious than the atrium style. All in all, a terrific value with just enough (not in your face, not in your way) staff service. Enjoy Philly!

“Good hotel, but a few rough spots”

Embassy Suites Hotel Philadelphia-Center City

I stayed mid week and found the rooms to be very clean and very large. The elevators were malfunctioning the entire stay and even the ones that worked were very slow. The buffet may be the worst buffet of any hotel that I have ever stayed at (its in the connected TGI Fridays). Valet parking area (34.00) is very small and slow to move around in. The hotel was also on the outskirts of center city and most of the stuff I wanted to see was a number of blocks away. % blocks to subway to get to baseball game. If you just want a large clean room, this place is fine, but it has its flaws.

Stayed for one night, and asides from a credit card issue and the elevator breaking down , it was wonderful! Helpful staff, free internet access, yummy breakfast buffet from TGIF, and perfect location! Highly recommended!

We stayed at the Embassy Suites for one night. We got the best rate by booking through the hotel's website with our AAA card. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly-even when we arrived to check in at nearly 11 pm. The room was huge and had an awesome view of the city. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on in a hotel. We have 2 children (pre-teens) who slept on the sleeper sofa and said it was very comfortable as well. The breakfast buffet that is included with the room was very good and had lots of options. It was a very short walk to the closest bus stop and Phlash stop.

The only negatives were that the air conditioner was a little loud (the return was in the bedroom) and there was no free wi-fi/internet in the room. There was a charge but there was free wifi in the lobby.

They are doing some rennovations to the lobby area. But I would still definitely stay in this hotel again.

“A few problems”

Embassy Suites Hotel Philadelphia-Center City

Jul 23, 2008

I stayed at this property for two nights and it was good and bad at the same time. Check-in was great as I arrived early and they had a room for me. The front desk staff was very pleasant and efficient. When I got to my room I dropped my stuff and headed out. When I returned the A/C was running, but just blowing warm air. I slept all night sweating because the A/C didn't blow any cool air. I told the front desk the next morning and the maintenance folks met me in my room when I came back and determined that a line was frozen solid and wasn't working. He did fix it and said it would be OK. It was fine for about 6 hours and then apparently froze again because it was blowing lukewarm air about 11pm. I went to bed and when I brought it to the attention of the front desk on check-out they did give me a discount which was nice. They have recently done some upgrades to their rooms which are good and the rooms are very large. If you get a room on one of the upper floors be prepared to wait for the evelators as they are slow. Would I stay here again? Probably, but I must say that this Embassy isn't quite up to the standards of many other Embassy's around the country.
