We stayed at the Embassy Suites for one night. We got the best rate by booking through the hotel's website with our AAA card. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly-even when we arrived to check in at nearly 11 pm. The room was huge and had an awesome view of the city. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on in a hotel. We have 2 children (pre-teens) who slept on the sleeper sofa and said it was very comfortable as well. The breakfast buffet that is included with the room was very good and had lots of options. It was a very short walk to the closest bus stop and Phlash stop.

The only negatives were that the air conditioner was a little loud (the return was in the bedroom) and there was no free wi-fi/internet in the room. There was a charge but there was free wifi in the lobby.

They are doing some rennovations to the lobby area. But I would still definitely stay in this hotel again.

“A few problems”

Embassy Suites Hotel Philadelphia-Center City

Jul 23, 2008

I stayed at this property for two nights and it was good and bad at the same time. Check-in was great as I arrived early and they had a room for me. The front desk staff was very pleasant and efficient. When I got to my room I dropped my stuff and headed out. When I returned the A/C was running, but just blowing warm air. I slept all night sweating because the A/C didn't blow any cool air. I told the front desk the next morning and the maintenance folks met me in my room when I came back and determined that a line was frozen solid and wasn't working. He did fix it and said it would be OK. It was fine for about 6 hours and then apparently froze again because it was blowing lukewarm air about 11pm. I went to bed and when I brought it to the attention of the front desk on check-out they did give me a discount which was nice. They have recently done some upgrades to their rooms which are good and the rooms are very large. If you get a room on one of the upper floors be prepared to wait for the evelators as they are slow. Would I stay here again? Probably, but I must say that this Embassy isn't quite up to the standards of many other Embassy's around the country.

Our experience with the Embassy Suites was a nightmare. We booked with the Embassy Suites because the rooms and accommodations looked like a wonderful place to host part of a bachelorette party. We planned on coming up to the room after a nice dinner to change to go out and give the bride some special gifts. When we arrived at the hotel we were told only 5 people were allowed in the room at a time. There was no indication on the hotel website that this policy was in place (otherwise we would have never booked there!). The worst part was we booked about 6 weeks in advance to make sure all our bases were covered, then had to leave at 10:00 and find a hotel that would accommodate us. I have never heard of a hotel with such a policy and the staff was extremely rude to us. Because of trying to negotiate with the staff for an hour (and our guests having to stand outside on the curb in front of the construction) we missed the first hour of an open bar we set up at a nearby establishment and lost out on money already spent - not to mention trying to rebound a crying bride.

We really enjoyed the hotel room. It was reasonably priced, very clean and quiet. We had a pleasant experience altogether. Plus, the $5 a day trolley stops right outside.

This hotel used to be apartments. It's a round building and the rooms have funky shapes. Most also have two balconies~! The room was much bigger than I expected, with a seperate bedroom with its own tv, bath, living room with couch and tv, and a kitchen alcove. It was quiet as I was on an upper floor (try not to be on a lower level close to the street). I loved it, it was very convenient to tourist sites and right on the main tourist road into the historic area. The only thing I didn't like is that if you took the stairs out during a fire I doubt you could get to the street, they have a very confusing layout that spits you out on the second floor and then no signs telling you how to get to street level.
