“Pleasantly surprised!”

Embassy Suites Hotel Philadelphia Airport

After reading prior reviews, we were a bit concerned. Enough so that we sent a note to Hilton asking about this hotel's quality. We got a response from Hilton and the Embassy Phila Airport saying all renovations were done and the place was in great shape.

We checked in on Friday 8/29 for a one night stay (leaving the car for a week while we were away) for $140. The lobby (and all common areas) show no signs of work underway and everything looked great. We could find no faults at all. There is huge indoor fish pond, and in addition to the fish, there are 8 mallard ducks living in the lobby pond (which was spotless).

Our room was in very good shape and clean. No complaints at all.

Our only disappointment was that breakfast on Saturdays does not start until 7:30AM and we needed to be on the 7:30 shuttle at the latest or we might have missed our flight. But, we were told not to worry!

We arrived in the lobby around 7:15 and left our bags by the desk saying we were going to try to grab something and be back for the 7:30 shuttle. One employee said he was the shuttle driver and that he would wait for us so we could get something. We ran to the restaurant where one of the cooks heard me telling someone we were in a hurry. He also heard my wife say scrambled eggs and bacon would be fine as it would be quick. He said "I've got eggs and bacon ready now if you want". Wow, shutlle waiting for us, breakfast early, these people really wanted to help us out!!!

All staff seemed eager to please, including Friday night's happy hour servers who gave us great friendly service.

We highly recommend this hotel and will certainly make it our place to stay when in the area. It was in great shape, and the employees know the meaning of hospitality!

“Beautiful Hotel - Horrible Housekeeping”

Embassy Suites Hotel Philadelphia Airport

Sep 4, 2008

What a beautiful hotel, both the public areas and the rooms. Upon entering my suite I was taken aback by the new furnishings and comfortable bed. Shortly thereafter I noticed pieces of debris such as candy wrappers, pins, coins, etc. left by the previous guest indicating the carpet had not been vacuumed for some time. There were also red stains on the carpet. In the beautiful bathroom there was no soap (picked some up at the front desk). The next morning I informed the front desk and was assured the room would be "spotless" when I return. Nothing could have been farther from the truth. The carpet remained untouched and this time the housekeeper forgot to replace the bathroom floor mat. For a hotel of this caliber it is most unfortunate that such superficial housekeeping is tolerated. I have stayed in many Embassy Suites but this is the first one with substandard housekeeping. Sorry but I won't be back.

“Very disappointed”

Embassy Suites Hotel Philadelphia Airport

A couple of months ago I stayed at this hotel during their construction and was not pleased with the quality of the hotel. I called and was told the construction was complete so I decided to give the hotel another try. The construction is NOT complete. The men's room on the main floor is in terrible condition. Water leaking from the ceiling, garbage cans on the floor to catch the water, ceiling tiles missing and many toilets and urinals out of order. The breakfast was OK but I went to get a cup of coffee 5 minutes after they were shutting down the breakfast and I was told that I could not have a refill on my coffee. Poor customer service. Problem with many channels on the new TV's. This hotel is a little cheaper than other hotels in the area but NOT worth it. I will never return to this hotel.

I stayed here just last week. My family and I had used the park and fly deal, so we could leave our car at the hotel while we were away. Check in went smoothly. Our room was on the 5th floor and it was ok inside. Nothing special for the price we had paid. The hotel is in the middle of no where so we had to eat at their restaurant. All meals were over priced and our waitress was not very good. The waitress even hit my mom in the back with a plate as she cleared the table. Our bill at there was $90 and that was for two regular meals and one appitizer as a meal! The gift shop's food is over priced, too. Three ice cream bars were $12! After dinner we were in our room for a while when the air conditioning broke. We called the front desk and they sent a handy man who after some time fixed it. Later we discovered that we were one short on bath towels. How do you not give a room enough towels when you know how many people are going to be in that room?! In the shower there was a piece of a razor, which means the shower had not been cleaned. On the pull out couch bed, there was a candy wrapper on it, yuck! The breakfast the next day was ok. The omlets and made to order eggs were good. Most other food was cold and workers did not restock food when it ran out. I am not sure if you would want to stay here.

If you can make it past the dirty front doors and unvacuumed hallways, you will see that the guest rooms are not half bad. My room had been recently redecorated with new furniture, bedding and a flatscreen tv. The room felt clean and the bed was very comfortable.

At checkin I was informed of a promotion that would earn me Hilton points if I spent a certain amount at the restaurant. I found that extremely amusing based on the cleanliness factor I observed in the lobby. No thanks!
