not properly staffed-had to bus our own table at breakfast for 2 out of 3 of the mornings. Not enough food for the amt. of guests.
when we booked our room, we were told they can give us a roll away bed to accomodate our family. When we got there, we were told that they don't have roll aways, so one of my kids had to sleep on the floor, as they were all booked up on the other larger rooms.
they have 1 washer/dryer for the entire hotel, and the washer was broken.
Pool was very cold, and water was cloudy. floor was wet and slippery, no staff around to clean up.
Desk staff were rude and insensitive, and not trained on their computers.
We left behind something of great importance to one of my kids, and for the next two weeks, we had to persistently call housekeeping to get them to send it, even though it was found right away. Then they sent it, and also sent someone elses lost and found item in a separate box.
I have never written a negative review before, but feel this hotel deserves this review.

“Would have expected better from ES”

Stayed 2 nights 7/6-7/2008, coming off a family reunion in Lancaster, PA(Travelodge--dump).. Have stayed in ES several times, with my wife/ 3 kidz, since 1998. I rate this place as neutral. Restaurant was closed, Sunday, when we arrived but there is a Ruby Tuesday, 1 block w/in walking distance. Children went to the pool but said it was "freezing". I found the room space to be a typical city ES. All the ammenities, coffee, 2 tv's. etc. Yes, there is construction, in my sutuation.. the 2nd floor. I was on the 4th. (Did not hear the noise in Rm. 449.) Mgt. I don't know...The front desk seemed to be asking alot of questions to each other. In fact, I was sent to a room with a king bed, instead of a 2 dbl. and had to change after hauling luggage 5 floors and across the lobby.

(Shuttle to and from the airport ( across I-95) was very efficient and friendly. Room, clean, but I would have probably have taken 2 rooms adjoining for 2 nights (with 3 teenagers ),if the hotel had let me know they were available. Did not eat food there. The breakfast they served was a 'custom omlette" and cereal, oats, etc., a few things you see at I guess a Holiday Inn Express, not what I have become used to staying at an Embassy Suite. I would have expected more at $190 a night+ tax.

“Terrible Hotel”

Recently stayed there for a business meeting. I cannot believe how the service has deteriorated. I have been to this hotel once or twice a year for business for the past ten years. Never expected the low level of service.

The hotel had major problems. The air conditioner was broken.
The hotel was very hot. The elevators randomly worked. The management did not respond to any complaints or concerns in a timely or professional manner.

There are many other choices. I recommend looking elsewhere.

Basing my rating and review on who I would rate hotels in a similar class. This hotel is an airport hotel frequented by travelers who need a quick in an out or a small conference group. There are several other hotels in this area adjacent to the airport and I would advise to check on several of them before choosing. With this hotel, call them directly and find out where they are in the construction.
I was here for business. I knew construction was ongoing and told them I wanted to be as removed as possible. They fulfilled all my requests, so I have no complaint.
Check in was easy and friendly. Room was as billed (they are all suites -- this is one thing I have always liked about this brand). AC wasn't working great, but as soon as I called it was fixed within the hour.
Everything else was clean and comfortable in the room. Outside the room will be a different story with the construction going on. It is a major renovation. Given that there are construction workers everywhere trying their best not to disturb the guests, it gets messy and a little noisy. (I was both impressed and dismayed when trying to take a quick nap that they didn't knock off until about 6:30 pm).
Forget the pool and fitness room. The pool is pretty much a really, really bug hot tub. The fitness room is an alcove adjacent to the pool. It was so hot in there, I just went and ran outside. Did I mention that this was during the recent heat wave in the East.
Bring your GPS. Places to eat are scarce. Stay away from that Ruby Tuesdays. It's disgusting. I walked out and I can count on one hand the number of times I've done that.
Bottom line: Staff is nice and hotel is doing their best during what is a need renovation. Not sure how else they could do this upgrade short of closing down. It's really not that bad as airport hotels go and will probably be more than fine when they are done with the work.

“Much better than I expected!”

After reading the recent reviews here, I was quite reluctant about this hotel. Having won a trip to Philadelphia, I had no voice in choosing the hotel where we were to stay. After reading prior reviews I was a stress case to say the least. Fortunately everything worked out much better than I hoped. The property is in fair to excellent condition, depending on how new your room is. Ours was really new! The renovations are almost done and there was very little noise. We weren't disturbed in the slightest and in fact slept in past 8:30. Darn those wonderful curtains that block all sunlight! All the employees we encountered were very friendly, especially a manager after mentioning I was concerned after reading the reviews here on tripadvisor. The beds were very comfortable, plenty of pillows and blankets all around. I really like those down blankets/synthetic blankets with the covers instead of the old tacky coverlets that are at some hotels. Overall, the room was great but I have to give the hotel a negative review on breakfast.
Not good. I guess if you understand that it's basically free and you really only enjoy omelets or cold cereal then this is the place for you. I do not eat eggs so had to sort through the plentiful other options that were all about equally gross. Maybe I have a little higher standard of expectation coming from California where we seem to be a bit spoiled in that way? I don't know but other people seemed perfectly happy with the really oily hash browns, stale muffins, and sausage that was just plain yucky.
The location was really good. Very close to the airport although a little tricky getting on and off the correct ramps until you've done it a few times. We rented a car and it took about a day before we really had the routes to the city figured out. It was an easy trip to the sights though. Also super easy to get to the outlying areas like Lancaster and even a great dinner just down the road in Wilmington, Delaware. Highly recomend the Brewery on the waterfront, my husband's favorite meal of the trip. Great shuttle to the airport which made it easy to catch our flight on time.
Overall, a great stay and I would say much better than expected for an airport hotel.
