Top notch all the way around. Suite was big, clean & comfortable and included a small fridge & microwave. Bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in at a hotel. Staff very friendly, Free hot breakfast very nice, kids had plenty to eat. 4 computers with free internet access on lower floor near pool/hot tub/exercise room.
Parking is at a public lot a block up and across the street for $20/day. Location is across from the Convention Center, on the edge of China Town, walking distance to most major attractions (Indep Hall, Liberty Bell, Constitution Center, US Mint, City Hall, Reading Terminal). You really can't do better for a reasonably priced suite, highly recommend.

With my daughter about to go to college at University City, on the west part of Philadelphia, my wife and I booked the Hampton Inn acroos the Convention Center because it looked pretty central to all the attractions of Philadelphia (very important if you don't have a car). The hotel is just two blocks from Reading Market and the subway to Old City (the colonial landmarks are there) . Chinatown is only one block away and Independence Center (Liberty Bell and Independence Hall) just a 20-minute walk away.
The hotel is comfortable and the staff very acommodating. On the day of arrival I asked to be changed from a double to a suite. For a minimal increase on the price of the room we spent the night in a comfortable king size bedroom (while my daughter slept in the living room). The included breakfast was OK (scrambled eggs, muffins, bagels, potatos, coffee, juices, etc.) and better than the 'continental' servings at other hotels.
I would recommend this hotel for parents of students at University City (if the hotels there are full) since this Hampton Inn is only two short blocks to the 'Drexel Shuttle' that takes you to University City in less than 7 minutes.

Staff and service were great. We checked in very late and they were very helpful. There was a great selection for the breakfast in the morning. The pool was great too! I would definitely stay here again.

The location was okay, close to subway and a few blocks to catch the city tour bus/trolley. Nice hotel w/valet, concierge, and doorman. Breakfast is okay. Loved Philly.

I was very impressed with the location of the hotel. It was close to practically everything, including to the Greyhound and Amtrak stations. The proximity of the hotel to the local attractions is amazing. You can walk to places like Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the Franklin Institute Science Museum as well as the Italian Market. SEPTA bus/subway stops are nearby if walking is not an option. Taxis are always parked at the hotel entrance, too. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The go out of their way to say hello and offer a smile. The property has a nice pool and fitness center as well as a 24-hour business center. The breakfast area is great. It is set up in a large room off the lobby and everything is well-stocked. I spent a week in Philadelphia and it was a real pleasure to come back to this hotel at night. I had never been to Philadelphia before this trip. Now, I cannot wait to return to this hotel for my next vacation. I highly recommend this property for any person or family who is planning to visit Philadelphia. Don't forget to try a Philly Cheesesteak or two while down there! Pat's Steaks or Geno's is highly recommended by me!
