Booked this hotel for an overnight stay, for my husband and myself. Three other couples also joined us staying here.
Nice place to stay to be close to some great Philadelphia spots, restaurants, bars, shopping, Rittenhouse Sq.Park only few blks away. Great place for a wknd getaway.
We all had a good experience. Rooms are smallish, but fine for 1 night stay. Tall celings, microwave, and frig.
One of my friends reserved suite, but they said only kitchenette room available. Not really much of a difference in size, bigger room included a table and 2 chairs and bigger couch. They had to pay same price as suite, but we all recieved coupons for our next visit at a big discount.
I'd stay again. We paid $129 total inc taxes, very good for Phili hotel Sat. night stay. Parking across the street under Liberty Mall, that was pricey, $32 total for Sat to Sunday afternoon.
Might look for other parking next time, but I'll stay at this hotel again.

“Central, reasonably priced, but a little threadbare”

Club Quarters

Sep 12, 2008

This hotel, almost at the corner of 17th & Chestnut, is a good bargain for downtown Philadelphia, and for those who want to be in the center of things this is a great place to stay. Keep in mind though that this is not a luxury hotel. The carpet in my room was worn and stained and felt damp from all the humidity in the city. The bathroom floor was sticky. The shower floor was a little slimy. (They did come and clean the bathroom more thoroughly after I left a note at the front desk.) There was no place in the shower to put any soap or toiletries -- you had to pile everything on the floor. After a certain hour in the evening there is no one to do maintenance: so if the lightbulb in your bathroom burns out at the wrong hour, as happened to someone on my floor, tough luck. The bathroom was well equipped with a large makeup mirror and a hair dryer but it was quite small. Otherwise the room was comfortable. As long as you are aware that in some respects you are getting what you pay for, you will not be disappointed.

“Small but solid”

Club Quarters

Aug 19, 2008

If you don't mind small rooms, I think this is a good choice. I will stay there again, as it's a great location and reasonable price compared to other downtown hotels. I was traveling for business and only needed to stay one night, and this place hit the spot. The internet worked well, which was very important, and I loved being able to get as much bottled water as I wanted. I found the room layout pleasant, except for the coffeemaker being right above the toilet, which was mildly annoying. My room was quiet and clean, though it seemed that it may have been a smoking room at one point, from a faint odor (though it didn't trouble me too much and I do have a sensitive nose). My checkin and checkout was extremely fast and smooth (they have a self-checkout kiosk) and the staff was friendly. I did have to call ahead to ask about where to park (for a reduced fee), but it was pretty easy to manage and I had no trouble at all.

If you are checking out Philadelphia on foot then this location is perfect! I was able to walk to all historical sites I wanted to see and the train station was only two blocks away so was a convenient way to make it back to the airport. The rooms are very small but still very nice, they are laid out in a smart way. They held my luggage for me while I played tourist all day. My only complaint is that I had requested a crib and they didn't hold it for me. They said they only had three and had already given them all away, so that was an issue since I had my 7 month old with me. Free internet but the computers in the lobby were all in use anytime I wanted to use them.

I can stay at Club Quarters with a membership through my job. They offer discount weekend rates that are given out very sporatically. I was able to stay here for $64 on a Saturday night - in town just to catch the Phillies game. The location is great for general sightseeing and accessibilty to the subway. Buses run right on Chestnut. Many restaurants/bars to choose from and lots of shopping. Felt safe walking around - even at night there were alot of people still out and about.
The facility is pretty basic Club Quarters- lobby is lovely and has 2 computers. The room was generic - very small but was expecting that here. Clean and comfy.
Would definately stay there again - especially if I could get such a great rate !!
