Went with my husband on his business trip to the Hilton Philadelphia Airport. He rented a car, so we didn't use the shuttle service, but the hotel is very close to the airport. Check in procedure was very efficient. Because he is a Hilton Honors member, we got a non-smoking room with a king sized bed on the eighth floor. There was a great view of downtown Philadelphia from the room, which was decorated very nicely. The bathroom had nice thick towels and Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries. The bed was extremely comfortable. The air conditioner made noise all night long - it sounded like we were sleeping next to a stream - but that didn't bother me. My husband said that the condenser was frozen up and he was warm during the night, but I was comfortable. The breakfast buffet was nice with fruit, pastries, eggs, potatoes, bacon, and make your own waffles. The breakfast was paid for through his company, so I'm not sure what it would have cost otherwise. There is a small gift store and a small coffee bar that sells Starbucks, as well as a sports bar, at the hotel. I was quite pleased with our stay there, especially after reading some of the previous reviews. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

“Stuck in the 70s and 80s”

Despite the one review that says that they did a "great renovation", I think this hotel is a dump! I'm Hilton Gold and can't remember a worse Hilton state-side.

Yes, they have an airport shuttle. So do all the airport hotels.

Check-in was efficient and i was off to my room. When I arrived in the room, it had a musty smell, and the decor was all stuck in the 70s (except that flat screen TV). It turned out the air conditioning unit -- very loud -- was leaking water into the carpet in the room. It was late and I was too tired to change rooms, The water was confined to an area around the window, and I just threw a towel down to cover the wet carpet when I went to close the shades.

For an airport hotel, more anti-noise glazing is required on the windows. I could hear a truck's backup alarm at 11:30 PM... this in a room on the 8th floor. I also woke up once from a plane taking off... fine, it's an airport, but it shouldn't be that loud.

I ordered room service, and the chicken muffaletta sandwich arrived without the promised capers, onions, and olives.

In the morning, I was awoken at 7 AM by loud banging in the hallway. It turned out the battery had died in the card swipe lock on the room across the hall. The hotel custodial staff had to hack open the room with a crowbar and other tools -- I would have thought they have some kind of master key in such situations.

The main service a hotel sells is a place for sleeping, and this hotel did me no good on that front. Thankfully it was a one-night stay. I wrote the hotel manager who apologized, but did not offer to follow up in any other way.

“Don't Do It”

Hilton Philadelphia Airport

I stayed at the Philadelphia Airport Hilton for a week. I was taking a course which was taking place in the hotel and thus I had to stay there, despite the problems. After reading other reviews, I must concur that some of the staff were rude and unhelpful.
First, the original room that I was assigned to shared a common wall with the elevator. All night long, I could hear the ringing of the elevator. The next morning when I went to complain and change rooms, the front desk staff was far from understanding and helpful. I was told in a very rude manner that I had to wait until 3 to get a new room.
When I got to the second room, it was not much better. I agree with other travelers about the ceiling coming down and lack of cleanliness. The absolute worst part of the stay occurred on the second morning of my stay: I heard a rustling noise coming from the window unit (air conditioner/heater). It turned out to be bird; who had set up a nest in the unit. After complaining to the front desk, I was told that the problem would be taken care of. Well, the bird came back. I just gave up and came to live with the rustling every morning at 6:30 a.m.
Bottome line: the hotel was not super-clean; the dining options in the hotel are not good; the staff was okay, and some were downright rude.
Additionally, if you do not have a car, be forewarned, there are no other restaurants in walking distance and you are stuck.

This Hilton is located close to the PHL airport with an excellent and flexible shuttle service to the airport terminal. The guest room was spacious and the bathroom was average. The fitness center has several treadmills and a set of dumbells.

Check-in was slow and the restaurant did not open breakfast on time. It was late by 5 minutes but that mattered as I needed to catch an early morning flight and the shuttle van leaves every 20 minutes.

The bed is very comfortable and my room was not dirty or smelly. However, the room rate was not cheap.

Please do not stay at the Hilton Philadelphia Airport. It's a dirty, nasty hotel staffed with unfriendly people who simply do not care about their guests.

I stayed there last week and had such a horrible experience. First, when I went to check in the people were rude, and acted as if a guest trying to check into their room was an inconvenience to them. When I arrived to my floor, it smelled gross -- very mildew-y. I went into my room hoping it would smell better, and it actually smelled worse.

The room itself was very dirty. There was Easter candy all over the floor. One of the drinking glasses was broken in half -- the only thing holding it together was the white sleeve they place over the top. Obviously the maids do not wash glasses between guests, because they would have noticed a broken glass. The carpet was all torn up, and the room was overall just filthy.

After spending a short amount of time in the room, I couldn't take anymore. I went to the front desk and asked to be given another room. She asked if I was on the second floor. When I said yes, she said "Yeah, it smells, doesn't it?". YES, THEY KNOW THAT AN ENTIRE FLOOR SMELLS, AND THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. Sickening. She did however give me a new room.

The new room did not smell at all, but was still very dirty. The ceiling was falling apart. The carpet was all torn up, with bare wood floors visible in a couple of areas. The floor in the bathroom was so grimy that I was able to write my name on the floor with my finger. To make things worse, in the morning when I went to take a shower, there was no hot water.

Just gross. This hotel has ruined the Hilton name for me. I've stayed at cheap motels that were far nicer than this supposedly luxury brand hotel.
