We stayed at this hotel for five nights using Starwood Points and used it as our base to attend the U.S. Open tennis matches. Service was superb and the room, complete with a large, swiveling, LCD TV concealed in a pop-up box at the end of the bed, was exquisite.
Since we arrived just after lunch, our room was not quite ready. One of the managers walked us into the bar and offered us complimentary drinks while we waited. They came for us about 20 minutes later and escorted us to our room and to meet our floor's butler. She was delightful, offered to unpack our suitcases for us (really, now?!), offered to press any items of clothes for us, and explained how we could page her in the mornings for coffee. Complimentary coffee is brought in the mornings on a silver tray, with china cups, served very hot in a French press. (At night, however, the same request results in a room service charge.) It sure beats making coffee in a dinky pot in the bathroom!
Of all of the hotels we've stayed at in the United States and Europe, this ranks among the best.
