Stayed 3 nights with 2 kids 5 and 8. We felt so welcome by the warm staff (butler, concierge, groom, waiter...) we cannot wait to return. We used to stay at the Four Seasons but fell so anonymous last time we wanted a change.
Well, we were right : Everybody greeted us in a very personal way and all seemed to remember our names and our children's. Had a great suite with 2 bathrooms and great views. Well, everything was so perfect, we are dreaming to come back from Paris ! The St Regis definitly lives up to its reputation...

Just returned from a weekend at the St. Regis in NYC. I was not overly impressed by the hotel. The first night we checked in we were given a room on a lower floor - with absolutely no view (except for an exterior wall). We were moved the second night, but our room was only half the size. The butler service was a nice touch, except when we tried to utilize the service, the butler did not respond until 20 minutes later. We did enjoy the bed and linens - they were nice. I was disappointed that some of the other aspects of the hotel were not up to par...such as the very low water pressure, broken hairdryer, smoking-smell on the non-smoking floors...

In summary, this was still a nice hotel in a good location (close to 5th Avenue shopping & Central Park)...but for the price, I would definitely stay somewhere else next time.

Went with friends to look at universities and shopping! Also saw Mary Poppins which was unbelievable! The location is great at 55 and 5 ave. The suite with connecting room was huge and new! The service was the best in new york for dining, theatre, and transportation. The Astor Court serves a fabulous afternoon tea, best in NY and the Alain Ducasse restaurant is perfect for the fine dinner!

We go to NYC frequently and rotate between the Ritz by the Park and the St. Regis. Both are thumbs up from me. The St Regis is more pricey but classical elegance at it's finest. The Astor Court serves a great tea, the Bar is cool and the Alain Ducasse restaurant is great fine dining. The location is great between Madison and Fifth Avenue. You can walk to Barneys, Saks, Bergdorfs and Rockefeller Centre!!! The rooms are spacious and the best staff in NYC!
