“Really Nice & Comfortable Room”

InterContinental Boston

Nice Hotel stayed here when it first opened a few years ago. The room is very nice. Great bathroom with separate shower and deep soaking tub. Bed very comfortable, large flat screen tv, long desk with all the ports you need for your computer etc. The room has all the amenities you will need but you will pay for everything, so do not stay here if you're not willing to spend on the extras, internet, parking, etc. The hotel bar was hopping. The only grip I have and it is a big one, was that the hotel check in was awful. The room was booked by my boyfriend with his credit card but under my name, and even though he had all the confirmations, and showed his credit card info they would not let him check in until a manager spoke to me. Well the manager was very helpful and checked him in after I confirmed everything but if they had called me 10 minutes later I would have been a plane and well he would have had to wait a few hours for me. We are busy business people and travel all the time. This has never happened before and well quite frankly for such a highly rated hotel I am surprised the front desk gave him a hard time in the first place. So I think it's important someone at the Intercontinental figures out a solution to this issue.

I stayed at this hotel in August 08. It is a great hotel; it is very clean, and it is at a great location. Located about a block from the South Station, a 10 minute walk to Fanueil Hall and china town. The only complaint I have is that the service is just ok for a luxory hotel. The staff are a bit surly, I asked for all of the surrounding attractions brochure at the concierge desk and the woman wouldn't give it me! She state that I need to give her the specific attractions or tell her what I like to do. I mean, come on, its a luxory hotel, and you couldn't just take a brochure from each of the attraction that is on the shelf and hand it to me? Plus, the room service people did not replenish everyday things, like the Q tips, and never changed out the broken phone or the broken hair dryer that I requested. They did bring a great coffee maker for the room. Overall it was a good experience and I would stay here again.

I stayed for five nights and can't fault the hotel. Fantastic rooms and friendly/helpful staff. In a great location for the financial district and within walking distance to all the main sights. I actually felt sad when I left!!

“Luxury on the waterfront”

I loved this hotel. We stayed two nights for half the standard price by booking through Hotwire, and it was worth every penny. The room was huge with floor to ceiling windows on one wall. The bathroom was also huge--with a large shower stall and a tub. They have a pool and a spa on premesis, as well as two restaurants and a bar.
This hotel is located right on the water, and has lounge chairs and tables surrounded by plants and flowers that is perfect for reading the morning paper, or just sitting outside and enjoying the day. It's extremely close to South Station, and an easy walk to both Quincy Market and the Freedom Trail.
The only thing I would NOT recommend is drinking at the hotel bar. We didn't try the restaurants, but the bar was ridiculously expensive and even the bartender commented on that. Unless you really want to drop a lot of money, I would plan on getting food and drinks elsewhere during your stay.
I would definitely recommend this hotel, but sometimes I felt like it was just like any other big city hotel. If you're looking for something unique, this is not it.
