My husband and I spent the last week in Maui and Oahu for our anniversary, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience at the Royal Lahaina. We were upgraded to a partial oceanview upon arrival and had a bottle of champagne waiting for us in our room. The view from our balcony was amazing! The room was very clean, the king size bed was very comfy and the staff was extremely helpful. We got a package that included breakfast and a rental car from Dollar, and with all of that the rate was still better than most of the major resorts in Kaanapali. The resort has 2 pools...we only went to the one in front of the restaurant. It always had open seats and had a very calm atmosphere. The beach was just a few feet away from the pool. It was never crowded and the water was unbeleivable. We had booked several excursions before we got to Maui, but once we arrived at the Royal Lahaina all I wanted to do was hang out there (my husband said no to that idea). While staying in Maui, we did the Ekahi Sunrise Tour of Haleakala Crater, a luau at the Feast at Lele, and a snorkel cruise to Lani'i with Safari Adventure Tours. We loved all of these and would do them again if we went back Maui. After 4 days in Maui, we headed to Honolulu to do the Pearl Harbor thing before we flew back home. We spent 2 days in Honolulu, and if I could do it over again, I would never have left Maui.
