We requested two queens and a pull-out so each adult could have a bed. The arrangement was promised to us when we made the reservation if we showed up early. However, when we arrived at 10:30 a.m., (after 1 1/2 drive) we were told this arrangement was not possible and that we would have to buy a second room. When we objected, we were told the hotel was sold out (unless, of course, we wanted to pay for a second room). The room cost $424.00. The room we were given in the Claridge Tower was disgusting: there were stains on the walls, chairs and floor. The bathroom was in disrepair, the bathtub was moldy and the hair dryer was from the 60s. The safe was broken.

We left.

Do yourself a favor: don't stay here.

Based on some of the other reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. However everything was pretty nice. We stayed in the Dennis Tower and the room was nice. Smaller than I expected but I guess your only in there to sleep anyway. The bed was very comfortable. My only complaint was the housekeeping lady was singing in the hallyway at 9am! Very annoying!! We ate the 6ix for breakfast which was good. The Reserve for dinner one night. Good food but somewhat overpriced. The Red Pearl was good as well if you like chinese food, very large portions. I thought everything was great. My husband and I had a wonderful weekend away!

“Not As Bad As Expected”

Bally's Atlantic City and Claridge Tower

Based on other reviews I was expecting the worst but I was very happy with my room in the Claridge Tower. We had 3 rooms on the 9th floor (booked for 5 of us). I personally inspected each room and was very satisfied & I am very picky and would call myself "high maintenance".
Didn't see no dust, mold or loud people. Only one snippy desk person & the rest of the staff were wonderful from valet, waitress, bartenders, cashiers, operators, security officers, cleaning staff ...everyone was very friendly. We also got our room 4 hours early; which was nice after traveling 6 hours & then gambling 6 hours- I was ready for a nap and a shower! We ate dinner at the 6ix but wasn't as good as I would of expected it to be; we had wanted to eat at the Va City buffet but remarkable it closes at 8 pm; I have heard it is the best.

Me and my husband went down to Atlantic City and stayed at Bally's for a couple of days. Check in was good, they gave us an early check in and a nice room! We stayed in the Dennis Tower and it was clean, you needed a key to get into the elevator which made me feel safe. Our room was big and the bed was very comfortable.

The only problems were the hallways are really noisy and you can hear everything as your trying to sleep, the shower head had no pressure although the water was hot when needed and you have to pay $10.00 a day per room to use the pool which is totally unacceptable in my book.

Other than those problems it was a nice stay.

“Should have stayed home.....”

Bally's Atlantic City and Claridge Tower

Sep 11, 2008

The hubby and I received an offer for a "comp" room and decided to stay at Ballys for one night. We arrived in Atlantic City around 11:00 am and were immediately given a room on the 5th floor of the Dennis Tower. We were very happy that they were able to accomodate us so early in the day. Upon entering our room, the first thing I noticed was the brick wall facing our window. This made the room very dark, but nothing a few lights wouldn't fix. (Hey, you can't complain about the view when you're getting a free room.) After taking a quick look at the rest of the room, however, I immediately noticed that everything looked very dated. Other than the flat screen tv, everything was just plain old. In the bathroom, the ceilings and floors were brown in the corners from mildew and the fixtures really could have used some updating. On a good note, the room was clean, the bed was comfy and it was very quiet.

If Bally's wants to compete with the other hotels in the area, they need to undergo a huge renovation. The location (on the boardwalk is great) however, the rooms are in need of an overhaul. If you have a choice of accomodations, I would recommend staying at one of the other hotels/casinos.
