My mother, daughter and I stayed at the Bally's from July 30- Aug 1,2008. We had a dismal experience. The 1st room we were given was filthy, the second room merely dirty. The bell hop managed to lose our luggage for approximately 40 minutes. While I did enjoy the tour of the underbelly of the hotel while trying to find my luggage I could have spent my time pursuing more enjoyable activities. Our shower was clogged, my beach umbrella was lost and other numerous things happened, including spotting a roach by my room. I have further complaints, but since this review is already too long, you should know that my mini vacation was anything but. It gave new meaning to appreciating my own home.
I had contacted the hotel and all I received was a form letter. I tried to reach them again and agian all I received was a form letter this time saying that there was going to be no more correspondence. I even tried calling the hotel and expressing my complaints. I spoke w/ a young man named Todd who was sympathetic but did not do anything.

This hotel really needs work in so many areas.
First off, the front desk was really understaffed. There were many stations available on this busy Saturday, but very few workers to man them. And the ones that were working were incredibly slow, and not entirely professional.
I was upgraded to a Jr. Suite. This sounded great, but the room was just terrible, and dirty.
One odd thing was that there were windows with zero light coming in, as if they had been bricked over. Because of this, the room was dark and gloomy.
The cleaning of the bathroom was atrocious. I dropped something on the floor, and noticed that there was garbage still there, including a used razor. The coffee machine was gross, in fact, the whole room was a bit disgusting in my opinion.
I will not stay at Bally's ever again.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Claridge Tower from Mon. 8/18 to Thurs. 8/21. We checked in a little after 4pm on Mon. and it took less than five minutes. They gave us a room on the 20th floor of the Claridge.
The room was actually pretty nice and clean and a good size for two people-not cramped at all. It had a king bed, a t.v., a table with two chairs, a safe and a coffee maker. There wasn't a fridge which would have been nice. The bathroom was small but the shower stayed hot and had good water pressure.
We had dinner at Virginia City Buffet one night and we also ate breakfast at 6ix and they both were very good. It was very easy to navigate between the Claridge, Bally's and Caesar's casinos without having to go outside.
Overall we were pleased with our room and would stay here again.

We paid cash for our room, so this is not a "comped room" experience. We could not even get a Total Rewards rate, because when I called to book, they could not find my account. However, when I went to apply for a new card, they told me I already had one. When we checked into this hotel, we were not told which tower we were in. We were given a room number and told we would have an ocean view. We had trouble even finding the right elevator to get to our room (not given directions), and found that we were in Claridge's. The room didn't look too bad, a little cramped, tiny bathroom, but it did have that ocean view, so we decided to keep it.
The worst problem with this room was that it was a connecting room. From reading other reviews, it looks like this was half a suite. The connecting doors had light coming in under them from the next room, which meant that noise between the rooms also carried. We were treated to a very intimate, screamed conversation from the room next door. I was alone with my husband, and still so embarrassed I turned on the TV to drown out the noise. It sounded like they were in the same room with us.
Later that evening, (or I should say early the next morning), we were awakened by a group of drunken men. Again, it sounded like they were right in bed with us, and they made threatening statements about anyone calling security. Very intimidating. Needless to say we got very little sleep.
The good news about the pool in Claridge's is that there is no charge to use it (despite what it says on the Bally's website). The bad news is there is no hot tub/jacuzzi available (despite what it says on the website). We ate at Pickle's Deli in Bally's, and the food was just average, while the prices were high. We ended up eating the rest of our meals along the Boardwalk, where the food was junky, but at least the prices were lower.
Although I ended up winning a little money at the slot machines, overall I was very disappointed in Atlantic City. It was cheesier than Vegas or Reno, and while on the beach we were eaten alive by biting flies. I would not return even if given a free trip.
If you go, I hope you have a better time than we did. And good luck with the slot machines (or whatever your game of chance).

“Check in is Awfull, Hotel is not Clean.”

On a whole the hotel is "average". Check In experience is terrible, allow at least 90 minutes for 1 - 4 PM arrival. Also, allow more time if you are not Diamond or Platinum members as those members recieve priority check in, and priority on all service needs. One other comment, in general the hotel and casino area are less than clean, and staff members seem to have a general bad "attitude" towards any service related issues.
