We paid cash for our room, so this is not a "comped room" experience. We could not even get a Total Rewards rate, because when I called to book, they could not find my account. However, when I went to apply for a new card, they told me I already had one. When we checked into this hotel, we were not told which tower we were in. We were given a room number and told we would have an ocean view. We had trouble even finding the right elevator to get to our room (not given directions), and found that we were in Claridge's. The room didn't look too bad, a little cramped, tiny bathroom, but it did have that ocean view, so we decided to keep it.
The worst problem with this room was that it was a connecting room. From reading other reviews, it looks like this was half a suite. The connecting doors had light coming in under them from the next room, which meant that noise between the rooms also carried. We were treated to a very intimate, screamed conversation from the room next door. I was alone with my husband, and still so embarrassed I turned on the TV to drown out the noise. It sounded like they were in the same room with us.
Later that evening, (or I should say early the next morning), we were awakened by a group of drunken men. Again, it sounded like they were right in bed with us, and they made threatening statements about anyone calling security. Very intimidating. Needless to say we got very little sleep.
The good news about the pool in Claridge's is that there is no charge to use it (despite what it says on the Bally's website). The bad news is there is no hot tub/jacuzzi available (despite what it says on the website). We ate at Pickle's Deli in Bally's, and the food was just average, while the prices were high. We ended up eating the rest of our meals along the Boardwalk, where the food was junky, but at least the prices were lower.
Although I ended up winning a little money at the slot machines, overall I was very disappointed in Atlantic City. It was cheesier than Vegas or Reno, and while on the beach we were eaten alive by biting flies. I would not return even if given a free trip.
If you go, I hope you have a better time than we did. And good luck with the slot machines (or whatever your game of chance).

On a whole the hotel is "average". Check In experience is terrible, allow at least 90 minutes for 1 - 4 PM arrival. Also, allow more time if you are not Diamond or Platinum members as those members recieve priority check in, and priority on all service needs. One other comment, in general the hotel and casino area are less than clean, and staff members seem to have a general bad "attitude" towards any service related issues.

Had a reservation for a Premium room in Bally's tower but was told nothing was available at check in and was given a room in the Claridge. Was promised by a supervisor that I would be moved to the Bally's tower the next day. The next day I was given the runaround until 4 PM before they switch me to the Dennis tower which was some improvement but certainly not what I was promised and my orginal reservations.
This is a common practice used by Bally's.
Only stay at Bally's if you want to take the chance of being assign
an inferior room.

Went to Bally's for my 10th year in a row. It has always been our favorite, and we have stayed at a few of the others. We get lots of comps, Free room, food, drinks, money, glasses, T-shirts, coats. You get the idea. This year everything was wrong. Check in is great if you do so early, but you must keep checking back for your room key. This time it was after 5:00 and ours was not ready, we had ask for smoking but finally took non smoking just so we could get a room and rest. We traveled 5 hours and waited all day for this room. Room was new and comfortable. Air cond. did not work well, very warm. Room was dirty. We gamble early in the morning and get back to our room in mid afternoon to find room not cleaned, one day was not cleaned until after 4. We saw a dog come in the hotel and then had poo all over the hallway. When we reported it at 7 that morning they agreed to clean it up and it was still there at 1. Room service was prompt but burned. Wyndham hotel was there everyday bugging us every time we walked by. Bums was sleeping at machines in casino. Stores was empty and dirty. Clarriage food court was shut down/blocked off and dirty. Our favorite resturant has been completly changed to something else. Information books in rooms outdated, half the stuff in it is not there anymore. And the whole part of the wild west is the west theme....... ALL GONE. The music was not up to date, the train does not go around the bar anymore, the man and the donkey can barley talk and look awlful. All the good machines are gone and everything is going video. Not sure if i will go back or not. Would like to try another casino, but hate to pay the price for rooms when I can stay for free. I did complain when I checked out, and they said there was new owners and not sure who I could write to complain.

I am a Platinum member at Harrahs. I get comped every month for rooms at Harrahs, Bally's, Ceasars and Showboat in AC. My H would be celebrating his 40th birthday on August 20th, so we decided to take a short 2 night excursion to AC. We normally stay at Harrah's but he wanted to be on the boardwalk, so we decided on Bally's (had a bad experience with Ceasar's). I placed the room reservation at the end of June. I requested a Premium room (top of the line)....well, here's the story.

We arrived at Bally's at about 10:45am on Sunday, August 17th. I had read how it was good to get there early to get the room you request. I went to the front desk and explained that I had reserved a premium room and that I expected a premium room would be in the Bally's Tower. I was told that all the rooms in the Bally's Tower were being reserved for their VIP Players (uh, excuse me? But what am I? Chopped liver?) If I walk through your casino, I'm a VIP....wrong choice of words. I explained to the check-in clerk that I requested a Tower room and that's what I expected. She said that all she had was a Dennis Tower room available and that all they can do is give the customer a choice and I promptly explained that I wasn't given a choice. If you put a white ball, red ball and blue ball in front of me and tell me to choose and then say, you can only have the blue ball, then what choice did I have? I also informed her that I would not have chosen to stay here if I would have known this earlier.

Well we went up to the Dennis Tower room #649 (a smoking room)....the room was very nice, it had a flat screen television and a king-size bed. The room did not smell of cigarettes and the bathroom was nicely done...nothing spectacular. The room was fairly small, but honestly, it was not a bad room at all. I know I would have had a cow if I was placed in the Claridge. I saw alot of people being placed there when at the registration desk.

All in all the staff was nice, the check-in staff was sketchy, but they are only doing their jobs. I would prefer not to stay there again, only because I believe that the customer service at Harrah's is superior to any of their properties in AC. When I'm told I'm going to get something, that's what I expect. I don't appreciate being told that I'm not a VIP, when I spend alot of my money in your casinos and hotel. I would really like to know exactly what I am? a NVIP (not very important person?). Well all-in-all we had a good time. I caught 4 Kings in "Four Card Poker" and I had a fabulous time. We went everywhere and also had dinner at "The Steakhouse" at Harrahs...it was excellent...a bit pricey, but good.

The Dennis Tower was truly cool, but I wanted the Bally's Tower, oh well, such is life.
