I stayed at hotel Colomba 2 nights ago with my family and we absolutely adored it! The location is perfect, 2 minutes from the Duomo, the leather market, the David and other sites. The rooms were VERY large, so comfortable and nicely air conditioned. The wireless is free which is a HUGE bonus. We felt very safe staying there, as there is staff in the lobby 24/7. Most importantly, the staff was unbelievable. We were truly sad to say goodbye because the family was so good to us. They went out of their way to make us feel at home, gave us directions to multiple requests and chatted with us when we were hangin around the lounge area. It was so refreshing seeing their faces each time we entered the hotel, it was an escape from the frustrations of travel. It was truly a joy staying there and it would be a pleasure to go back and stay at Hotel Colomba again.

I travel to Florence quite often for my work, this is the worst hotel i have ever been in this city
The hotel is a small one, owned by a family.
The position is excellent but the hotel is not.
I was given a room which had the smallest bathroom I have ever seen in my life. During the first night there was a fire allarm, it was stopped but nobody gave any explanation for that. In the morning I received a wake up call...but I had never asked one....again nobody apologized for that.
Finally, during the night the owners were staying in the breakfast room (close to some of the bedrooms) smoking and watching tv.
if you can i strongly suggest to book hotel casci instead of this one, less expensive and much better!

Believe all of the positive reviews. Great hotel and location. Room was immaculate and very quiet. Will return here on our next visit to Florence.

Myself and my three fellow travelers landed in Florence with some idea of where to stay gleamed from the Lonely Planet guide. The hotel we'd picked was booked up but the owner took us down the street to Hotel Colomba where he introduced us to Rosanna and asked that we were given a good rate. Rosanna delivered. We were shown to a very clean and large triple room. We were told about the free internet access and the free continental breakfast. We were given maps and directions to the Galleria dell'Accademia to see David. It was all very personal and very friendly.

We stayed only the one night so we checked out the next morning but were allowed to leave our packs while we toured around the city some more. Before leaving we had breakfast and the opportunity to meet the owner. He was very gracious and courteous thanking us for choosing his hotel.

Believe me when I tell you that staying at Hotel Colomba is akin to staying with family. They are very nice and hospitable and the rooms are clean and spacious. Hotel Colomba should be your choice for accomodations in Florence.
