“Nice hotel to stay in Florence”

Hotel Rosary Garden

We stayed at the Rosary Gardens for one night last week. We had been staying in Viareggio but wanted to visit Florence and booked the Rosary Gardens before leaving the UK.

The manager / owner is a very nice lady who is more than wiling to assist with your enquiries, and the staff are very nice. The hotel itself is very nice....cosy, warm and inviting. The room we stayed in (21) was large with a good bed and all the possible amenities.

The hotel is a good walk away from the main town (20 minutes), but you can always take a taxi if you don't want to walk.

All in all, a nice hotel that I would recommend.

I stayed in this hotel in October, 2007. The single room was great and spacious by Italian standards. There is a great restaurant next door that I ate at 4 times ! It is a bit out of the way from the historic center and I did find it a hassle to get back to the hotel by cab at night. Standing at a Florence cab stand was of little use ! Your better off eating at a restaurant in Florence and having them call a cab for you to get back to the hotel. Also, in the immediate area if your looking to dine on Sunday this can be a challenge. Most places are closed. But the hotel was wonderful. The staff was very accomodating. Not just the owner, but the young lady and gentleman who worked the front desk. They even had a couple of self service liquor cabinets with fine cognacs for a late night nite cap. I am returning in December, 2008 and have already rebooked at this Hotel.

“Classy little hotel in Florence”

I found out about this hotel through a friend and decided to book and spend almost a week in one of my favorite cities in the world: Florence.
Like most reviews say, the hotel is not in the very center of Florence but believe me it is not a problem to take a walk and enjoy the atmosphere of the city.
The hotel itself if very classy and perfect for staying alone or with your partner. The breakfast and the service are EXCELLENT!

“Very cozy little hotel”

We were (me and my husband) travelling by Tuscany during the month of may and we had a pleasant surprise when we arrived at Rosary Garden in Florence. It's a very cosy hotel. We've felt like home! The room is fantastic! Confortable and beautiful. The breakfast is good. It's a little far from downtown, but this problem can be easily solved by taking a bus - and there are lots of them - very close to the hotel. At last, but not least, Monica, who runs the hotel is such a nice person!

The Hotel Rosary Garden is a true gem! My wife and I spent three wonderful nights there in the Spring (2008), and it was absolutely perfect.

Located outside the noise and crowds of downtown Florence, the Hotel Rosary Garden ("HSG") is well-situated in a quiet little neighborhood a little beyond the Bardini Gardens. One of the best gelato shops in all of Italy is right next door (and we tried many, many others). Nearby, within short five-minute walking distance, are several excellent restaurants.

The hotel itself is everything you could ask for and more. Our room, a superior double, had HUGE vaulted ceilings with exposed wood beams, a comfy sofa, a sizeable bathroom (for Italy), and many other niceties. The breakfasts, included in the price of the room, are served in a cozy little room and are quite tasty. There were also several rooms in the HSG set aside simply for relaxing, with free danish cookies, tea, and digestivos (liqueurs). In a word, wonderful.

But the very best part of HSG is the owner, Monica. Although the staff is excellent, Monica is unparalleled as a host, concierge, and friend to her guests. She is what an Italian host (or any host) should be.

I could honestly go on for paragraphs about the HSG. Given the terrific value that it offers, I would rank this hotel among the best in Italy; It offers the ease, comfort, and beauty of a five-star hotel without the snootiness and the attitude.

If you are in Florence and they have room, stay at the Hotel Rosary Garden. You will be very, very glad that you did.

Note: If you are wondering how to get there from the train station (as we were), please email the hotel staff first as a bus goes directly from the station to the square where the HSG resides. It is about a 15 minute ride and very, very easy.
