The hotel was not in top repair and the walk to the city center may be a bit much for some people. But we enjoyed the quiet neighbor, a strong contrast from the congested city. Parking was easy and off the street. The host was great. It was worth the price. We would go there again.

Villa Betania is a small, charming hotel immediately outside of the historical walls in Florence, in the Porta Romana neighborood. I find it of excellent quality and of very reasonable prices for the area. I stayed there several times, I routinely send there friends and colleagues, and all have been favorably impressed. The young owners are nice and do their best to help you with whatever need. The Villa itself is an old Tuscan residence, and it is very pleasant to sit in the garden for a coffee or an aperitif. City centre is well within walking distance. For coming back at night (uphill...) city buses go right by.
