What a great stay in Vancouver!
We were upgraded to one of the tower rooms with a partial city view and partial marina view. The table and chairs were placed in just the right place in the corner of the room to take advantage of watching the sun rise over Burrard inlet and of looking at seaplanes coming and going frrom the nearby terminal. The table was also just the right place to have a room service dinner overlooking the water. We could have seen the "Celebration of Light" fireworks display from our balcony but decided to go with the crowd to English Bay, instead. Comfortable beds in a newly renovated room.
Registration was quick and easy even though there were several tours checking in at the same time. Very soothing background music was piped into the public areas of the ground floor.
It was nice one day of our stay so we took advantage of the splendid waterfront, outdoor pool -- lots of people but still one could find a quiet area. The water with wedges of orange and lemon was very refreshing! We did not take advantage of the indoor pool, but it also looked pleasant.
We travel with an English bulldog and and chihuahua and the Bayshore could not be a better place for them.. They were a hit with the staff and there are many areas beside the hotel where they could be walked. There also is a good pet store, with some unusual items, a block away towards Georgia Street.
The Bayshore was a wonderful retreat in Vancouver and we are looking forward to our next stay there!
Fantastic location and hotel at reasonable price online! Stayed on the 8th floor of "The Tower", which is the newest building of the Westin. Great view of the harbor! Also could see the pool. Watched yachts come and go, and the float planes banking in just above my skinny balcony. Stanley Park is just next door, which is beautiful! Service was not very personal. Took them 2 phonecalls from me, and over 30 minutes to bring my bags up from the lobby on check-in. There were only 3 luggage carriers there at the time, so NOT that busy. No breakfast included. Breakfast buffet is $25 Canadian. Television tiny. Wireless internet available.
As others have said, location is everything for this hotel which is within walking distance of Stanley Park and down town restaurants.Beautifully set with views of Coal Harbour Marina and sky scrapers. Short walk to some great eateries like Carderos. Great little breakfast place, Bojangles within 100 metres.Nice bar in hotel on quayside walk. Try to secure a high room with view as some low floors have poor view over large flat roofs of reception buildings.Rooms are decent and beds comfortable.
This is a great hotel. The service is great. The rooms are clean and nicely remodled. The location is ideal. I visited the Four Seasons hotel. Dont see how it is better. The location is bad, the lobby isnt any better than the Westin. I didnt see the rooms at the Four Seasons, but the Westin rooms are fine enough. Even the rooms yet to be remodled are fine enough.
The food was good, but expensive. Service was timely though.
Stanley park is located right next to the hotel. Seriously, the only bad thing about the hotel is the carpet in the room. Dont know why they chose the scheme.
