My family and I, who have been to Beaches Turks & Caicos, were given the option to change our vacation because of Hurricane Ike. We were given 2 options: 1) take another week inTurks in the future. 2) go to Beaches Negril. We took the Negril vacation, assuming it would be similar to Turks & Caicos. WE WERE WRONG!!!! The pools were filthy... The staff (95% of them) were miserable!!!! It seemed like it was a bother for them to help us!! Rooms were worn down,,,,,, lots of bugs in the rooms. Staff was very nasty!! Restaurants were not air conditioned! Shows were dissapointing.... I could go on and on but I think I've made my point... On a positive note, if you have never been to Beaches Turks & Caicos you might not be as dissapointed as my family was. IN NO WAY does this resort COMPARE to Turks. If you have the option, choose to hold off your vacation until Turks & Caicos is re-opened!!!!! It is worth the wait!!!!

We had a destination wedding which included family with ages from 14 months to 74 years old. Beaches had something for everyone and the beauty is you can do as much or as little as you want. We had two 17 year olds who I thought would get bored after a couple days (we were there 10 days total) - nope! They had a blast and the staff there made them feel so welcome and like a part of the Beaches family. This was our second time here so we knew what to expect. As repeated often in the reviews - expection is the word. Go for the activities both on and off the beach, the water park which keeps everyone busy, and a genuine staff that keeps all the kids happy and entertained! We're already planning our next Beaches vacation at Turks & Caicos...

I stayed at beaches negril, with my partner and two children age 10 and 15 years old.

The resort was not what we expected and we felt that it was over sold on publicity. when we booked we was told that our room was a delux seaside room but when we checked in the room was over looking bushes.

the food and drinks was excellent, but the service we received was very poor by the majority of staff. we were ofetn over looked when we required something and felt that the staff was very prejudice to there own especailly the female staff.

Beaches negril is far from a luxury holiday.

There was'nt much activities for my 10 year old daughter to do, who was often bored apart from being at the beach or in the swimming pool.

The teen coordinators were okay but had there favourites in the children they wanted to do activities with.

The weather was fine even thought there is Hanna and Ike hanging around. The beaches resort has the friendliest staff you'd ever expect to meet. From the grounds keepers up. The room we were booked to was the Honeymoon Deluxe. A room with two double beds...understand where I am going with this? We were "upgraded" to Luxuary Ocean View. Be advised there is NO luxuary and as far as ocean view??? if you go out to the mini deck and stand on the toes you might see enough of the ocean to call it ocean view. So back to the room. The 4 of us include me, my wife and two children ages 3 & 4. We were granted a rollaway bed, a twin size which made traversing the 150 sq foot room nearly hazardous. The girls slept with heads at opposite ends of the bed. Which worked out okay. I requested an upgrade to compensate for my $4000 1 week stay. I cited the fact that the toilet overflows, the phone does not work consistently and the shower is but a trickle. the Manager seemed miffed that I dare ask and that I had the gaul to indicate that there are deficiencies here. The rooms are 150sq feet of blood thirsty bugs, bring the bug spray. Oh, lest I forget... the food leaves MUCH to be desired. When I ask for a steak medium rare, I hope that it comes somewhere between Medium and red, wouldnt you? Leather is the only way to describe what I got. And be prepared to be barraged by people on the beach selling their stuff... LEAVE ME ALONE!!! Believe what I say and tell me if I am wrong if you still decide to make this trip.
