Don't hesitate to book a trip here. It is absolutely romantic, beautiful, fun... anything you want it to be.

I think the best part about this hotel is that, everything is available to you when you want it... or not. You can be occupied by the entertainment (which could use some help actually), or you could be completely left alone. You could make 20 friends at the pool bar, or you could completely ignore everyone else and spend time with your significant other. It is very hidden away, there is lots of beautiful foliage, and the architecture is like an old Jamaican Plantation. We saw many hotels while we were in Negril, and would not have traded our hotel for any other. In fact, we are ready to book another trip. We heard that the other Couples resort (swept away) is very nice as well.

I will give you the best advice I can give, but please feel free to contact me directly if you need more help!

I have one complaint: There is no bottled Red Stripe. My fiance and I are big beer drinkers, and we got a little tired of tap Red Stripe after awhile. Although the mixed drinks were really good, they were really strong, a little too strong for me.

The resort does spray for bugs, and I was impressed by how few bugs I did see while I was there. Although... I can not stress it enough - wear bug spray! I got bitten a few times. But it absolutely did not ruin my trip.

Also, it is a lot more humid than we are used to here in So Cal. If I regretted anything, it was not bringing more swimsuits. Once my swimsuites got wet, they would never dry because it was so humid! So girls, I am not just giving you an excuse to go swimsuit shopping, you truly need a different suit for every day you are there.

The people are also amazing. The service is great. They really keep the resort safe for its guests. There are security guards on each end of the Couples beach, and they make sure not many people (vendors) come and hassle you.

The food is also great! However, for the high-end restaurant, I think it's called Otahite or something, you need to have LONG PANTS. Who brings long pants to the Caribbean? Just make sure you bring them if you want to eat there. We met some people who bought nicer clothes so that they could eat there, and they weren't sure it was worth it.

Oh, and don't miss the massage in the beach hut. So relaxing!

That's all I can think of for the resort itself. Don't miss Ricks Cafe. It is such a great experience with cliffs, sunset, and a live reggae band. Jimmy Buffet's was dissapointing. We did not hear one Jimmy Buffet song while we were there!

Like I said this was an amazing, relaxing trip at a great resort! I hope this was helpful and please let me know if you have any questions whatsoever. I know that candid pictures are a big help so I will attach some of those as well. Thanks and happy travels.

We stayed at Couples Negril from August 6th to the 13th and absolutely plan to return a special anniversary.

The staff were very pleasant, friendly and outgoing. They are happy and motivated to service guests. A special thanks to Stevon, Chantal, Andrew & Latoya for their excellent hospitality and customer service.

The room we stayed in is a bit outdated but the service and experiences we enjoyed more than made up for an average room.

Lots to do on the resort (water sports especially) as well as great excursions. We had an awesome time at Rick's Cafe!

We met some very friendly couples (Marc & Cindy, Shannon & Rick (Hi Paula LOL), Mike & Linda) which enhanced our experience for sure!

The food is the best we enjoyed in any of our all inclusive travels and the ambiance was A+.

The golf course (Negril Hills) was a bit of a dissapointment and didn't meet my expectations.

A sincere thanks for a great week. We recommend anyone to stay at Couples Negril!

I am a Guest Services Manager at a 4 diamond hotel in Nova Scotia so I always enjoy complimenting great service!

Sincerely,

Darren & Roxanne Martell, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

“Very Disappointed!!!”

Couples Negril

My husband and I are currently staying at Couples Negril for a week long vacation. We paid $2,600 for five nights (including airfare). We expected to find a 4 star hotel with exemplary service. We have received subpar service in all areas of the hotel. To make matters worse, the bar at the Heliconda is unsanitary. Today, as my husband and I sat down at the bar to have drinks, I noticed that the barender took dirty cups used by other patrons, dunked them into soapy water, rinsed them off with water, and put them back onto the counter. The bartender then used one of those same rinsed cups to give the gentleman next to us a drink. The cups were not even washed before being given to the new customer!!! Our room looks like a 5th grade camping cabin. The bathrooms are dingy, moldy, and unkempt. The shower has vents that open to the great outdoors. The sleeping quarters include a room of standard size (think Holiday Inn); however, the bed is only two feet off of the floor and feels like a cot rather than a luxurious mattress. Housekeeping leaves much to be desired. The hotel promised that we would receive a cleaning during the day and a turn down service at night. On our first day, housekeeping did not turn our beds. On the second day, housekeeping arrived at 3:30 p.m. for its first cleaning of our room and did not come back that evening for the turn down service. We contacted the front desk and asked if we could receive an earlier cleaning of our room and they graciously put us on a list where we would receive cleaning service earlier in the day. However, we have had to continuously ask for additional washcloths and towels.

The two positives in favor of the hotel are the food and the included water activities. The food is wonderful and my husband was able to go scuba diving as a part of the included water activities. I normally review the complaints posted on trip advisor and take them with a grain of salt.. However, by our third day, both my husband and I are ready to go home. We are sorely disappointed and would like a refund of our money and vacation days from work!

All I can say is WOW!! I am a travel agent so I am experienced and have a lot of knowledge when it comes to traveling. I can honestly say if you want the perfect vacation at an amazing resort, this is the spot!

When we arrived at the airport we were directed to the COuples Lounge where we were offered a drink and our luggage was taken and then we were directed to our shuttle. The driver of our shuttle was so helpful with giving us tips and he was so much fun. The ride to the resort def. started our trip off the right way!

When we arrived at the resort they take your luggage for you and gave us a drink and a wet towel for our faces!! Check in was very simple and fast and the front desk employees were great. By the time we got to our room our luggage was already there waiting for us. The room was great and the bed was better than my bed at home!!

The food quality is more than wonderful and there was so many items to choose from. There aren't too many restaurants but there is so much food they offer that is doesn't matter. The bar service was so good and they were so fun to be around. They make the drinks the way you prefer and can make just about anything you want!

The room service every morning was also good. The breakfast at the buffet was soooo good. You have to try their eggs if you like eggs. Their food is Caribbean style, but still American but with a great spice. I know in Mexio the soda does not taste very good but at Couples it tasted just like the soda here!!

This resort is very laid back but yet still has nightlife. We are young and still into the party atmosphere so we weren't too sure about how exciting it would be but believe it or not there were other couples there that felt the same way as us and were not disapointed in the nightlife. The pool is so big that if you want to party then there is the swim up bar but if you want peace and quiet there are spots for that as well. The beach was beautiful and great to lay on a raft and just float!!

There is not one bad thing I can say about this resort. I send many clients to this resort and have never heard anything bad, only good things. To be honest, you can't go wrong with any of the Couples Resorts.

This is the perfect resort for any couple who wants to relax, have a good time or just do absolutely nothing! I would have to give this resort a 5 star and you can't go wrong with it!!

Me and my Fiancee stayed at Couples, Negril from July 27th - August 3rd and we had the most wonderful time! Considering that we had a 2 1/2 delayed flight leaving out of JFK due to a storm which was to arrive in Montego Bay at 2:50 pm and didn't arrive until 6:00 and we arrived at the resort at 8:00. Nevertheless, it didn't matter because once we arrived it was sheer heaven! The resort is beautiful and relaxing. The beach is beautiful, warm and just perfect! The pool was always nice and warm with two hot tubs one on each end of the pool for those who wanted to just relax in the spa. The food and drinks was excellent! We ate at all of the restaurants, The Heliconia Grill, Lychee's and Otheithe's was all very good. We had jerk chicken with the most tender and sweet corn we've ever tasted. I travel every year and I must say this is by far the best adult vacation I've ever experienced. The people were so nice and they make sure you enjoy your stay. The breakfast was always good and they would have diced watermelon and I would sprinkle roasted coconut over it! It's a must have. We went snorkling, catamaran cruise, shopping and the thing I recommend the most is the treehouse massage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's 55 minutes of sheer bliss. It's a must before you leave, you will feel like a million bucks. They refer to the woman as "Madam" and the men as "Star" and they always say "Respect" which is what they always showed. They have a nice gym and you can do yoga and all sorts of exercises. The grounds are beautiful and at night it's even more beautiful. The rooms are nice. We had a view of the ocean and the garden which was nice. Every day they would clean your room and make a nice design out of towels and fresh flowers which was a nice touch to see when you came to your room. The Otheithe restaurant was incredible!!! The food and service was beyond our expectations. My only regret is that we didn't make reservations for more than one night. It's something you want to experience again. The Tai restaurant was excellent as well. Everyone was so nice. I can't say enough great things about Couples. I look forward to being a repeated guest, although I want to experience Couples Swept Away as well. I highly recommend staying at Couples and guarantee that you won't be dissapointed. If you decide to buy Rum from the resort make sure you pack it away in your suitcase and not carry it in the carry boxes that they provide because they won't allow you to take them through customs. However, once you pass customs you are free to purchase rum from the shops in the airport duty free which they pack in the same boxes that they provide at the resort. Go figure! Just save yourself the inconvenience of having to pack away your bottles of rum away when you arrive at the airport because you weren't aware of the rules. ENJOY!!!!
