“A Moldy Musky Mess”

I stayed at RUI Naiboa for my summer vacation and was very apalled by the conditions of the hotel as well as the condition of the room. The hotel did not look like the pics on the internet. The hotel looked very cheesy. The first hotel room that my friend and I stayed in had mold growing in the closet and the enamel was peeled away in the tub. There was one full size bed and a twin bed for sleeping. The room smelled musky and the view was horrible. The second hotel room had mold everywhere from the liquor dispeners to the central air vents. The bathroom was filthy and not useable. There were no wash cloths in the entire building and the sheets on the bed was not clean. Unfortunately, the hotel staff was not very accomodating and we had to sleep in the hotel over night due to no place to go. We transferred immediately to another hotel the next morning.

“The worst experience in a hotel”

Riu Naiboa

I arrived at RIU Naiboa hotel on 06/03/08 and was assigned a room. Upon entering the room I saw that the the living conditions were unfit. The room conditions were as follows: Mold in the closet, mold in the bathroom (tiles, ceiling, light fixtures), enamel peeled off the bathroom tub, unsanitary, one twin bed instead of a double size.I asked for a different room because of the conditions. Upon entering the second room, the living conditions were slightly better because mold was not growing in the closet. The living conditions were still unfit. After continuous complaints, research and calls I had to pay over $400.00 to be transfered to a habitable hotel. I went back to RIU Naiboa and checked out. I walked with my luggage and checked into the RIU Palace Macao. I remained at the RIU Palace Macao from 06/04/08 to 06/09/08. I was dissatisfied with the service at RIU Naiboa. Staying at theRIU Naiboa the worst experience the worst accommodations I have ever seen during my travels.

I took my mom to Rui Naiboa as a Mother's Day gift. I liked the fact that they took your picture upon arrival at the airport. From the time we stepped in the hotel we were treated like royalty. We were greated by Juliana who is the most professional person I have ever met, and she has the prettiest smile very welcoming. I travel alot to different Islands, and I think the service here was better than any other place I' ve been in the caribbean (Costa Rica, Jamaica, Panama, VI., etc.) We were put in a room facing the pool, which was a nice view. The whole room was spotless, I have read others reviews about the rooms having mold and being dirty, no towels( We didnot face this problem). Our bar was completely stocked which my mom loved. After about 30 minutes Juliana called to make sure that our room was acceptable and asked did we need anything( I like service like that). We had fresh towels everyday, the room was cleaned everyday, and the bar was restocked everyt wo days. One complaint that I do have is the food, it was not good and I got sick the second day there( Mom did'nt get sick). I think they leave the food out to long and it goes bad. Overall it was a good trip that my Mom will never forget. We went on the glass bottom boat, went swimming with the dolphins, went parasailing, and just laid on the beach. We didnt leave the resort but overall it was a wonderful experience and I would recommend that people give this all inclusive resort a chance.

“Great hotel”

Riu Naiboa

It was so beautiful there, and we would love to go back!! The thing is you cant really leave the resort, at least we didnt, as its kind of dangerous too. You have to stay within your resort. The good thing is if you stay at the Riu, there are 4 other Riu resorts you have access too!, so you can check out the others. Weather was beautiful, and beaches were gorgeous

“Decent stay but in need of major updates”

Riu Naiboa

The price for our stay at Riu Naiboa was excellent. The location was great and the beaches were beautiful.

We stayed at the Riu Naiboa in May 2007. The most important thing to remember is that the Riu Naiboa is an older hotel. It's frequently listed as a 4 star and it's not. It's a 3 star at best.

The hotel is in immiedate need of renovations. Our room was hot and humid the entire week we were there. We requested service on the A/C several times but the room never got to what we preceived as a comfortable temperature. The hotel lobby had cracked walls and they were actually doing some ceiling repairs during the time of our visit. Most of the public areas just looked older and tired. Our bathroom was substandard at best. There was mold growing in the shower stall.

The buffet food was okay. We stayed for a week and there was a bit too much repetition but it certainly was very edible. I wasn't a fan of the snack bar food at all, but my husband enjoyed it. It was mostly hot dogs, hamburgers, and pizza that had been under the heat lamp a bit too long.

The staff at the Riu Naiboa is excellent and very accomodating. They were extremely friendly and willing to honor all requests. We were there for our first anniversary. The waitstaff sang to us and presented us with a cake at dinner that evening.

I would recommend this hotel for an economical stay. Overall the experience was pleasant and if Riu would do some much needed renovations, it would have been fantastic.
