WATCH OUT!!! if you leave from vancouver/edmonton, be sure NOT to take the flight from vancouver to santo domingo (instead of going straight to Punta Cana). The site says it takes 30 min, but it actually takes 4 hours!!! imagine a 11 hour flight (stopping over at Edmonton sure takes a long time), and THEN a 4 hour bus ride. That's what I just experienced and it was just god aweful. One of my fellow travellers on the bus actually said she called Expedia to see how long the bus ride was and they said 30 min!! what a lie. Also, the airline that flies there is just horrible. This ZOOM airline is quite possibly the WORST AIRLINE i`ve ever been on. One of the flight attendents actually fell asleep during the shift (on a passenger seat) and another said to my aunt `Ma`am i`m talking to you` when my aunt was asleep and wasnt paying attention. The hotel (Grand Paradise) itself is actually not too bad tho. Nice resort, huge complex, big pool, and directly connected to the absolutely gorgeous beach. Employees working there are alrite i guess, they are helpful if you ask them to, but I`d say they are far from being as smart as the ones I`ve seen in Mexico. Overall the trip itself is good, but the travelling is just so aweful that i would NOT go there again if I have to fly to santo domingo instead of direct to punta cana.

I was at the Grand paradise bavaro beach resort for two weeks,the beach was clean clean everyday while other resort had algae on the side of the beach were always hot hot its like walking on cement truly its true you couldnt walk to the sea you had to run or you got your feet burn up lol Its an excellence Beach one of the best ive seen yet so for your next vacation go to punta cana to see the magnificent Bavaro beach yahoooooo!!!!!

I just got back from Puerto Plata a couple of weeks ago. Let me tell you, if you have been to Bavaro Beach in Punta Cana first you must NEVER visit Puerto Plata. There is absolutely no comparison. I went to Bavaro when I was much younger, but couldn't help writing a review. If the beach and tropical atmosphere is important to you, Bavaro will knock your socks off! It is the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. White sands, crystal light blue waters....GORGEOUS!!! Trust me people, I wouldn't steer you wrong! I am not much of a traveller and prefer to stay home, but when I go, I have little tolerance for dissapointment. Bavaro Beach will NOT dissapoint you. :))

Stayed at bavaro beach and loved it. We stayed from June 20-26-04. Room 3126 had a side view of the beach. Room was average, had a safe that you put your own code in. Refrigerator that was filled with beer and water, soda every day. The beach was beutiful, and water was clean and clear. The water was nice and calm. Food at steak house was excellent. Really enjoyed eating lobster for lunch every day. The breakfast buffet was very good also. Great pizza all day and all night, you can take back to room if you wish. They have lots of activities to do. Mike the bartender was excellent. a $1 tip goes a long way down there. Even though it is an all inclusive resort, tips are really appreciated. They only get paid $250 a month and work very long hours. I do suggest that if you can learn some spanish, it will really help you. That was the only thing I wished I knew, because it was hard for them to understand me. They are all very polite and treat you with respect. And you should treat them the same.
