The location is excellent, but we found a giant dark red stain on a mattress. Best case it was mold. I don't want to think about what the worst case was. Plus we found pubes in the towels. more

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of an escorted tour group. The hotel location is great, it sits on the edge of the French Quarter and is in walking distance from the French Quarter, Harrahs Casino, Jackson Square, Bourbon St, many shops & restaurants. The street cars are right outside the main entrance. This is a very busy... more
My husband and I stayed here for Voodoo fest, and stayed October 23-27. We normally try to book the older, boutique hotels in the Quarter, but the price Marriott was offering for the Voodoo fest ($125/night) was far better than anything else we could find. Overall, excellent experience with this hotel. Check-in: Quick and easy. We arrived around 9:30PM, and... more
I honestly wasn't expecting much from such a large convention style hotel but I was more than pleasantly surprised. The staff was wonderful from valet to check-in to the concierge lounge. I was particularly struck that in the morning the staff lined up in the lobby to greet customers. Getting used to the "dial up" elevators didn't take much time... more
Considering the circumstances with Hurricane Gustav approaching, we had an amazing time in New Orleans. The New Orleans Marriott is perfectly situated two blocks away from Bourbon Street, a few blocks away from Harrahs, and the Riverwalk. Everything is easily accessible from this hotel. The streetcar stop is right outside your door. As a caffeine junkie I was quite happy... more
My husband and I spent 4 nights at the Canel Street Marriott in mid-August (a week before Gustav). He was attending a convention. We were originally booked for the Doubletree, but after looking at the reviews on Trip Advisor, we moved over to this hotel. Wow! we were so glad that we did! We got a cheaper rate and a... more
My husband and I had a terrific 4 day stay at the Marriott. It is centrally located and accessible to everything, either by foot or streetcar. The rooms are quite small, but clean and well-kept. We arrived very early, about 9 A.M., but were given our room immediately. The restaurant 555 has excellent food. I was quite surprised for a... more
I can honestly say I will not stay at another hotel when I return to New Orleans other than this one. From the moment I arrived, I was blown away with almost every aspect of the hotel. The valets were courteous to us when they took our rental car and everytime we dealt with them to go out/return. The 555... more
My best friend and I stayed at the New Orleans Marriot this weekend. It was great. The location is great you can get on all 3 trolleys within a block of the hotel. The french quarter is on one side of the hotel and Harrah's casino is a block down on the other side. We got our room for $89... more
I just returned from a convention in New Orleans, and stayed at the 555 Canal Street Marriott. The hotel feels fresh and new, great wall art, very hip and crisp feeling decor. The rooms were a bit on the small side for Marriott, but I was lucky to be given a corner room, that seemed larger than the other rooms.... more
