I stood one night and it was a very good experience. The room was very good and clean, and the location was great, as you are close to the City Hall, The Liberty Bell and the shopping streets. Very nice bars and cafes nearby. Altough the generator behind our room was a little bit noisy, the parking is an advantage.... more

My wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Midtown on Sept 20th for the Philadelphia Distance Run 1/2 marathon. The hotel itself was not too bad, the rooms were clean and overall fairly up to date. The building itself was old, and showing its age, but overall everything was decent. The location is great for any downtown Philly... more

Stayed at HI Express at last minute over a weekend in early August 2008. Great hotel. In the heart of Philadelphia's gay neighborhood and a great place to stay to explore the area on foot. Typical (great) HI Express breakfast, Hotel has some fancy flourishes in lobby. Room was very nice; plasma tv and comfortable bed with fine sheets and... more

For service, value and selection, this hotel cannot be beat. The staff were incredible!!! They were so friendly, it was like staying with family. The really great thing was, it was within walking distance to everything...all of the major attractions were just minutes away by foot. The breakfast bar is unbelievable. It was hard not to overdo it, everything was... more

We stayed only one night at this Holiday Inn Express, but it was a nice lodging choice for us. The lobby is quite small, but because we were with a large bus tour, we were not inconvenienced by any check-in wait. (Reps from the tour company ran that gauntlet and room keys were waiting for us on arrival). The food... more

My first impression of the neighborhood was not good, but it really grew on me through my stay. The hotel is old, but the room was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool on the deck of the sixth floor was nice. The location was convienient to all of the downtown sites. We... more

We stayed at this hotel for 3 days in late May. It is centrally located in downtown Philadelphia, an easy walk to most places that we wanted to visit. We also discovered that we could catch the Philly Phlash bus just 5 or 6 blocks away near the Reading Terminal Market. This is great for tourists as it makes a... more

For midtown Philadelphia, this place was cheap (as judged by today's inflated hotel prices, that is). The AAA rate for two persons in a two-bedded room was $134. The room was reasonably clean but with worn carpet and furniture. The shower flow was far less than I find satisfying. Free copies of the Philadelphia Enquirer were available daily. "Self-parking" next... more

My wife and I went to Philadelphia for a 3-night long weekend and I found a great rate for the HIE-Midtown via the Entertainment book. It has a very good location - only a few blocks from the historical sites - and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. That was good because we had to change our room after... more

Enjoyed a pleasant stay while attending a conference. Located mere blocks from the conference center and historic neighborhoods. Plentiful restaurants and bars nearby. Rooms and hallways smelled of new carpet and were very clean. Free continental breakfast was better than expected. I would definitely stay here again. more
