My stay at the Shangri La Bangkok was a great experience. I stayed in a deluxe Krungthep WIng room. The service was excellent and don't have a negative thing to say about them. I also had some massages at the spa. I've been a full-time massage therapist and work at a 5 star resort here in the USA and I... more

My Wife, parents and I stayed at the Kungthrep wing at this hotel for 7 nights from the 16th September. I can only describe it complete prefection. Everything from the welcome, to the rooms and especially the staff who are nothing less than exceptional. As previous reveiws mentioned the access to the cocktail lounge in the evenings is great. The... more

I've stayed at the Shangri-La several times over the last decade and have always enjoyed their excellent location, fantastic pools and exceptional Mai Tais! Sadly, I will not be returning. Everywhere in the hotel my husband and I were met by the truly unappetizing sight of leachorous men leering and groping their Thai "escorts": in the lobby, in the restaurants,... more

We stayed in the Shangri La for one night in August, it was a wonderful experience. We had just spent three weeks touring around Vietnam and Cambodia and had to stay in Bangkok before our flight home. After roughing it for three weeks the Shangri La was the perfect way to end our holiday. We stayed in the Krungthep Wing... more

We stayed at the Shangri La in the Krungthep wing on the first few nights of our honeymoon and it was excellent. The staff at the hotel are unbelievable from the minute you get there you hardly have to lift a finger. They are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. We had a fab view of the river which... more

Well what can I say fantastic hotel in an enviable position overlooking the river and the peninsula hotel. We stayed on the horizon club floor with fantastic views of the river and a great club lounge were you take breakfast and evening canapes and cocktails. Wonderful experience. The hotel itself is minutes from the skytrain if you go from the... more

This hotel for us was simply faultless. We arrived late at night in Bangkok and were picked up by the hotel limo (worth it !) We were greeted with smiles, flowers, drinks etc even though it was after midnight by this stage. We stayed in the Krunthep wing and even the bulter came to introduce herself! The room was large... more

This hotel is quite simply trying to cash in on its past glory. A three star hotel, at best, trying to pretend to be a five star one. The facilities, location and overall ambience do not merit the five star status awarded to it. Tucked away in the back streets of a distinctly unimpressive part of town, our initial reaction... more

I have stayed at the Sheraton and the Oriental on previous stays in Bangkok but the Shangri-La, to me, is the best one. I stayed with a friend for a 2 day stopover before heading down to Sydney. Whilst checking in we were very nicely upgraded and had breakfast thrown in - complimentary. We were then taken round to the... more
