We arrived late on Friday night, for a 2 night stay due to a family wedding (held at the resort). 3 of us were sharing a triple room, but I hardly got any sleep since one of the beds creaked noisily anytime one of us moved on it. We stayed for three nights, room was okay. The bed was like a rock. Had a decent shower. Breakfast very poor value; you don't even get real coffee. The staff were okay but didn't seem too 'enthralled', and had a lot of rules. For instance; you can't access the 'courtesy' bus unless you are staying with them at least 3... more

We stayed at Dolphin Heads Resort for one night during a last minute stop-over in Mackay and found our stay to be relaxing and enjoyable. We were happy with our beachfront room with its terracotta tiles, comfortable bedding and views to the water. Dolphin Heads is pretty remote, so if you stay here, you'll definitely want a car. There is little to do. No one was on the beach; no one was by the pool. This resort was okay. We just stayed one night and I won't really want to stay much longer. We paid $130 AUD per night. The breakfast was not a very good value. more
