It was with much trepedation that I made reservations to stay at the Desert Garden Hotel at Ayers Rock. The reviews on Trip Advisor made the place out to be the second coming of the Bates Motel. After long conversations with my wife about what we could so with the extra time and money if we skipped this area of... more

For a so called 5 star hotel this didnt quite measure up seeing as we had a deluxe room. On our way out to Australia we had stopped over in Hong Kong and stayed at the Shangri La, Kowloon - now that is 5 star!! Okay some people out there reading this will say its in the middle of the... more

My wife and I finally took our dream trip to Australia this past September. All accommodations , flights and car rentals were booked on-line and until we reached Ayers Rock all bookings lived up to their hype. The Desert Gardens Hotel $468.00 per night for a average room no frills, no extra,s, breakfast was a buffet style and both mornings... more

My fiancee and I stayed at Desert Gardens for 3 nights in late September. It was the perfect time to be in the Red Centre, as it was not hot and also didn't seem so busy. We stayed in a Rock View Room and as you can see from my photos, it was an awesome view! We stayed in room... more

I stayed at the Desert Gardens for two nights, and loved every minute if it. On arrival at Yulara airport we were met by the complimentary coach transfer to the resort, Desert Garden's was the first hotel where people were dropped off. The queue to check in was a bit lengthy, but I guess that's what happens when you're in... more

I attended a conference set at the Voyages Resort, of which this hotel is a part. The Resort is spread over quite an area, and has different standards of accomodation, The Desert Gardens is a spread out group of one and two storey buildings with 4-8 rooms in each, with a central pool and garden area, a restaurant, dining room... more

Excellent hotel in the red centre even if a little pricey, fly direct to Ayers Rock airport and stay here rather than Alice - It's worth it to miss the full day transfer! Great room with views of 'The Rock' as given upgrade by mentioning we were on honeymoon! Did a couple of trips booked with the hotel, Uluru Sunrise... more

Room was clean and spacious. Meals and drink a bit on the pricey side. Staff friendly and helpful. Sounds of Silence - WRAP UP WELL it was freezing with a bitter wind blowing. The food was ok but the view of Ayers Rock was poor as we drove further away from it when we left the hotel. Heaters were on... more

My wife and I stayed at Desert Gardens hotel for three nights at the end of June 2008. 1. We had problems the first night with the heating not working. Night time temperatures go down to around zero here in June. The room was virtually unlivable in. It took two nights before it was fixed in spite of numerous requests... more

I stayed at the Desert Gardens hotel as part of a Monograms tour by Globus. The rooms were adequate. There was only a walk in shower in the bath. They need to update the television. It was clean. You must put your room key in a slip by the door in order to have lights and air. I thought the... more
