This is first trip to Sydney and perhaps my review might not be accurate. My comparison would be to other backpackers' hostels in other cities like Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, etc. I loved City Resort simply for the people there. This hostel was quite simply the most disgusting cesspitt i have ever had the misfortune to stay in. I had the misfortune of staying in this dungeon for one night. Having travelled from Brisbane I needed a place for 2 nights. Single room absolutely stank so also did toilets.
