This place is fantastic. I was originally booked into another hotel in Venice but due to flood repairs they called to cancel us and I was very dissapointed. This was a suprise holiday for my then girlfriend, it was her birthday and she had always wanted to go to Italy. So right up to the day it was a suprise... more

We arrived from Rome via train for 4 days. Greeted by first name! Words cannot express how wonderful our stay in beautiful Venice was, but this hotel is unlike any other we have experienced. Matteo, the owner and his staff are all so special. They love their life and work. From the pretty, well appointed rooms, great breakfasts & evening... more

While the hotel does have a fantastic location, beautiful interior, and wonderful style - its greatest assets are Matteo and his staff. They give you the hospitality one would expect was only received by royalty - and they are truly so helpful in everything. As the hotel only has 9 rooms, you will never get lost in the crowd and... more

We had 1 night at the Al Ponte Antico, and the only complaint was that it was not long enough. Even though the weather was terrible, it did not spoil our time in Venice. The room we had was huge for Venice (or Europe for that matter). Mattheo & staff were warm & welcoming. The recommedation for dinner was also... more

Taking your wife to one of the most romantic destinations in the world may be the norm, taking your mother and your wife is probably not. But, off the three of us went to beautiful Venice. As a surprise we took the motor taxi to the hotel, very James Bond, but my mother both shaken and stirred by the somewhat... more

We were 4 couples staying at this hotel from 9/23-9/25. Our water taxi from our ship was greeted the owner Matteo at his dock in front of the hotel. Matteo introduced himself to our party, and from that point on, all of us were greeted by our first names. We booked 4 of the smaller rooms, and they were great.... more

This hotel is a fantastic place to stay in Venice. The location can't be any better - an easy walk to almost everything. The facility itself has been completely updated. What separates this hotel is the service. Matteo is an active owner who feels no request is too much. His fine staff (Oliver, David, Thomas, et. al) follow his lead... more

We cannot rave about this hotel enough, but as gorgeous as the palace, rooms, and views are...it is the staff that really makes it the best hotel in Venice and one of the best in the world! Everyone knows you and calls you by name, and they take genuine pleasure in catering to your every desire and more. We truly... more

I stayed in Al Ponte Antico from 20.08.08 to 24.08.08. I can easily say it was a wonderful experience. I always try hard finding good accomodation and my priority is 'a special atmosphere' if not too overpriced. Thanks to many reviews of this site and my own research, Al Ponte Antico was probably the best possible choice. Hotel's website give... more

My husband and I spent a lovely weekend, just after the carnival so it was really quiet. This small hotel is in an excellent location, right by the Rialto Bridge. Our room had a spectacular view over the Grand Canal. You could spend hours just watching the world float by the window - I had to drag my husband away... more
