This is a modern new hotel in the former East Berlin. It is located in a quiet residential area. Don't expect restaurants or shops nearby, but it is close to U-Bahn. If you don't mind a walk, Unter der Linden is 10 minutes away, big shopping center on Potsdamer Platz is 15 minutes away. Rooms are big by European standards.... more

The hotel is clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly. The immediate location doesn't look like much but it is a much shorter walk than expected to Museum Island in one direction and Checkpoint Charlie in the other. The hotel restaurant is pretty bad - good desserts, though. I would definitely recommend this hotel. more

As others have pointed out, the hotel's area is not the liveliest; but it's only 2-3 minutes walk to an underground station; and a pleasant 10 mins walk to different attractions in the Mitte area. I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights during February. Location is ok, but not excellent; you are in the middle of nowhere - subway is very near, though. Breakfast was very good.
