We just returned from two nights here and loved it! We arrived soaking wet - no make that dripping wet! - after a walk from Gare d'Austerlitz. The lady and younger man behind the desk were very polite and overlooked what we did to their lobby! They gave us coffee and a table while we waited for our room. Once... more

We picked this hotel for its location to the Gare du Lyon (very close and a precise 5 minute easy walk) and because it looked nicer than the other local hotels. I reserved three rooms via email and received confirmations back. When all 6 of us arrived on a very busy Paris Saturday afternoon, the non-English speaking desk clerks said... more

Le Marceau Bastille Hotel is a lovely little hotel that is in a terrific neighborhood for those interested in exploring the parts of Paris that are not over-ridden with tourists wearing sandals with socks and fanny packs: the Bastille area itself, the Marais (just a short walk away), and the hipster Oberkampf 'hood. If you do want to find those... more

This is the hotel for us for any future trips to Paris. It was recommended by a French friend who has worked in Paris previously and he had stayed at Le Marceau Bastille earlier this year while on a business trip. He was right. The rooms were lovely, and SO clean. The breakfast was superb, but don't try the pastries,... more

Overall liked the hotel itself. Nicely decorated, good size, nice staff and good quality rooms. Main drawbacks, as others have mentioned, are the lack of English speaking staff and certainly the location. It's a very short walk from the subway, but not too close to any main interest points of the city. more

Stayed here last weekend, nice hotel whose staff could use more training. Sadly, France seems incapable of creating a truly stylish, trendy boutique hotel a la NYC or London, and unfortunately le MB comes closs to its website but isn't quite there (picture no conditioner in the bathrooms, soap in little plastic-wrap, scratchy toilet paper etc and you get the... more

I loved this hotel. Like the pictures on the website, it is very clean and modern, but still charming and colorful. The lobby is very nice and hip, and there's cool modern art on the walls, but we didn't spend much time there. Usually it was pretty deserted. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice-good... more

My fiance surprised me with a trip to Paris last year and we stayed in this lovely little boutique hotel for 4 nights. As he booked it all I had nothing to prepare me for where we were going but was pleasantly surprised! The staff were very friendly and helpful, although not all of them spoke English so my rusty... more

We found this hotel to be refreshingly modern without being over the top. The staff were extremely friendly from the moment we arrived, offering us a glass of champagne as a welcome. The room was 'ecole', bright, well appointed and a reasonable size for Paris hotels in this price range. The bathroom was small but ecofriendly and had all the... more

RECOMMENDED. This boutique hotel located on a quiet side street near the Bastille of Paris. You are an easy to walk to many things, but the hotel is not in the middle of anything special. The Bastille area is OK, with many lower tier restaurants and young people at night. Service throughout our stay was top notch. Numerous requests were... more
