This is a nice little old fashioned hotel in the area of Ballsbridge about 10min walk from Grafton Street which is great as you have the best of both worlds i.e. a quiet area stay with a short walk to the city centre and 20mins from temple bar. The hotel its self is very charming and has a lot of... more

Location: Great if you need the Ballsbridge area. The AirCoach stops right in front of the hotel. Staff: Very friendly, housekeeping even brought us fresh ice several times (with out asking) to keep baby bottles chilled. Parking: FREE!!! Breakfast: Full Irish Fry to order, not a buffet. Included in the room price. Room: We had a large room with a... more

This is a great little hotel on the outskirts of central Dublin, just on the edge of the embassy area of the city. However, it is in easy walking distance of the city centre - about a 20 minute easy stroll into town. But why would you want to drive? The Georgian architecture of the city would be entirely missed... more

If over-priced Irish stew and theme pubs are your thing then you're looking at the wrong hotel! The Schoolhouse wins points before you even put your foot over the threshold, courtesy of its location in the quiet and leafy Embassy district and right beside a little, picturesque canal. Your euros won't go any further (which isn't far!) in this part... more

The Schoolhouse hotel charges almost E220 a night, for a service that falls well short of that value. On arrival the hotel looks well maintained and clean, the reception staff were efficient and polite. The first clue that all was not as you might expect is when we were left to find our own way to our room rather than... more

Booked this hotel hotel because it was within walking distance of RDS. Caught aircoach from the airport straight to the hotel. It took about 50 mins. This is a lovely, small, original hotel. Room was huge, clean, although bathroom was very small, bath very shallow, and shower too hard to stand under! But this wouldn't put me off returning. (... more

Where do I start? The room was shabby and run-down; light bulbs missing, all the wood furniture worn, carpet had seen better days and the bathroom has wood panelling that was warped and although I'm sure it was clean, the wood looked gross. I was offered another room which was better but I booked a "Girls Weekend" package which was... more

We stayed here for 2 nights in february 2008 for the Italy six nations match. The hotel has a lovely comforatable feeling with real character. The location is excellent, only a 10 minute walk from grafton street. The breakfast was so good and in such a nice setting that we returned for dinner on the second evening and were not... more

Spent four nights at this hotel late November 2007. The airport bus stopped right outside the door which was very convenient as it was 7.30pm and raining when we arrived. The small lobby was warm and check in quick. We had already been travelling for a few weeks staying in reasonably cheap accommodation, and had booked the Schoolhouse as a... more

We stayed here for New Years Eve (December 31 to January 3). We caught a airport bus from Stance Number 5 which took us straight to the hotel. Very handy!! 12 Euros for the return journey. Check-in was easy and quick. The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. We were in Room 220 which over-looked the side of the hotel.... more
