If you’re looking for somewhere fun, clean, central and with a party atmosphere then do yourself a favour and stay at the Generator Hostel. My friend and I came over from Aus, and had the best time at the Gen. The staff are really friendly and helpful, the rooms are decent- all you really need is somewhere to crash, and... more

This hostel is close to Euston and Kings Cross Stations, so is very convenient. The staff were very welcoming, which was a great first impression. It was all very easy, beds were made up, the place is clean and the atmosphere friendly. more

well i arrived at heathrow airport and the clerk suggested the Generator because it was easy to get to from heathrow airport. So when i jump on the tube(train) it took about a hour to get there. Then I walk to the hostel just afew minutes. It literally was a alley I was walking down finally,it was all crowed and... more

I stayed here on two different occasions (before and after a Contiki tour) and had fun. It's definately not a place I would recommend to anyone over 26 or anyone not interested in the party scene but since I was travelling alone, it was a decent place to meet fellow backpackers. One thing that was a bit frustrating was the... more

I did not have high hopes of the Generator, especially after reading some of the reviews on this site, but it served its purpose for my friends and I. We booked a 4 bed private room. We knew that we were unlikely to have the Ritz but we expected a bit more than two sets of rusty, squeaky bunk beds,... more

I paid £45 for three of us to share a room with a free drink and breakfast, expectations werent that high. I was in London for a bit of jolly boys so really the hotel was no more than somewhere to store stuff and get a full four hours sleep. The room was clean but very very basic. It reminded... more

We stayed in London during peak time and were only able to book a place at the Generator. It is in a quiet part of town. I liked the location and thought it had good access to other places via King's Cross. We stayed in a four person room and shared with two others. The room was a bit small... more

I read alot of reviews about the Generator before I went there and I was worried after reading some really bad reviews. But I have to say that this hostel is really great. I stayed in a private 2 bed room for six nights. The room, showers and bed was really clean. Toilets was ok. Breakfast was good. Security was... more

then stay somewhere else. Anywhere else. The staff was rude, and the credit card machine did not work. The rooms themselves were low class, even for a wallet-friendly hostel. The beds were creaky and the pillows, sheets, and blankets were itchy and dirty. All I can say is thank goodness that I did not witness a black light over the... more
