It's hard to compare this place with other hotels - as it didn't feel as if I was staying in a 'proper' hotel. It's more of an upgraded student residence. So if you want a more 'hotel' experience then this isn't the place for you! The staff were lovely - very helpful and friendly and the location is great -... more

In a lovely quiet part of central London, the included breakfast was great value. However, the room was really, really noisy and it was almost impossible to get to sleep. Some restaurant staff were really grumpy and unhelpful. Although we stayed for a month and paid a considerable amount of money we were not allowed a late check out (8pm... more

Checked into the Goodenough Club on the strong recommendation of a London resident who had never stayed there. It was very close to a workshop I was putting on at the University College. The price of 115 pounds per night for a double room seemed quite reasonable. We were told we would receive a first-floor room facing a garden. When... more

I stayed here for 2 weeks whilst I was working in London and chose this place based on other TripAdvisor reviews. Firstly, this is not a hotel - its part of a University that makes some rooms available for tourists but the rooms were certainly not aimed at students! Both weeks I had a double bed, the room had tea... more

I must admit, I have just relocated from SE Asia where for $120, you can get an absolutely amazing 4 or 5 star room so paying $280 anywhere hurts! That is what I paid for a 4 single-bed family room recently at the Goodenough Club. The plus-es, as others reviewers mentioned, are the location and basic room amenities (including DSL... more

I have stayed here three times in the past six months. 1)First time I was alone on business and got a first floor room in one of the Georgian buildings. Bliss on a budget. I stayed two nights and wished to stay longer. 2)Second time I was alone on business but was placed in a tiny room on the top... more

I've stayed at the Goodenough on three occasions now, and the rooms have always been clean and reasonably equipped (television, tea/coffee facilites, en suite toilet & shower - no bath). The television takes a bit of working out (a seven-step instruction guide for turning it on is provided) and the shower is pokey. However, for the price these are minor... more

Booked through [--] and had a perfect stay. The room was clean, large and the beds comfortable with a variety of pillows. The shower was nice and strong too! Quiet location on a residential square with locked gardens. The staff were friendly and nipping across the street to have breakfast in the grand wood panelled 'Great Hall' of Goodenough College... more

This August marked my third stay at the Goodenough Club and I confess, I've been reticent to write about it here as I consider it a little known gem in London. The location in the heart of Bloomsbury couldn't be better. You're five minutes from the tube and bus and better still, it's an easy 30 minute walk to the... more

This is a University Club that is open to the public. So if you are an academic, it will be a familiar set up, but perhaps a bit odd for non-academics. The area is not overly elegant (I liked that it felt "lived in"), but it is peaceful (as other reviewers have pointed out). It is a very conveninet -... more
