Stayed overnight for a Christmas function. The Imperial Room is goregous for events!!!! and the Bennihana restaurant is really good and fun. EPIC is so-so and I wouldn't go back. It is too big, toronto's version of the Waldorf. The room was small and old. Thank goodness it was just for a weekend. The lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas.... more

Stayed here when visiting with my wife and kids (ages 8 and 4). The Hotel is in a GREAT location, but VERY old. It didn't quite live up to 4 stars. We checked in at 11 and were told our room wasn't ready yet, but they'd put a rush on it. Fair enough. We went out and toured around and... more

I just returned from two nights stay at the Royal York. I've stayed here before and the experience was the same. Compared to most hotels in Toronto, the rooms at the Royal York are quite small. However, they do make up for lack of space with their comfortable beds, large LCD tv's, internet access, and many other hotel accessories. A... more

The Royal York is a very large hotel. Perhaps a bit too large to be much of a luxury hotel. We spent three nights here. Overall it was fine, especially considering what we paid. But we had come to expect quite a bit from Fairmonts, and sadly this experience wasn't what we're used to from the brand. Check-in was fine.... more

We have stayed at the Royal York numerous times over the past ten years and have always been impressed by the level of service and professionalism of the staff, the overall ambience and cleanliness of the property and the great location. In the past there has always been a Royal York Customer rate of parking in the underground garage adjacent... more

Located in heart of downtown near financial district and train station. Historic hotel with grand lobby and lots of atmosphere. Rooms small but clean and comfortable. Service good, excellent concierge. Can be pricey, try to get a deal online, worth about 150 to 250 per night depending on time of year and size of room you get. more

There is nothing seriously wrong with this hotel, it's just really disappointing. It advertises itself as a leading luxury hotel. In reality, it is quite basic and disappointing. We had lots of disappointments from the moment we arrived. All three main entrances are through revolving doors - difficult with luggage and a stroller. We were offered no help and not... more

The beauty of this hotel ends with the lobby. There is a musty odor in the carpets and if you walk past any door , the conversations within a room can be clearly heard. My two young daughters were threatened with eviction for making noise. They were sharing a room with their 84 year grandma and neither the TV nor... more

Very good service and good food. Rooms were good too except the bathroom was really tired with old fittings and tiles. One major problem was the noise from the corridor which carried on late into the night. I noticed that my room was opposite a service area where staff were coming in and out and talking loudly until after 1am.... more

Stayed five nights at the Royal York. Loved the location which meant I could walk everywhere with the access to underground walkways. Beds were comfortable, room was quiet, and I could even open a window for a blast of fresh air if I wanted. We ate our breakfasts in the coffee shop downstairs, always good, and evening meals out. Bathroom... more
