My husband and I just returned from a one-week stay at La Selva Mariposa, with our 21 and 25-year-old children, and we had a truly wonderful and magical time. It was our first time to Mexico, having always favored Hawaii, but it turned out far better than we would have imagined. We chose to stay away from the mega all-inclusive... more

We spent 5 nights at La Selva for our first jungle holiday. It was fantastic! Besides the beauty of the place and the impeccable accommodations, it was the people that made it. Moe and Lou are terrific hosts. We did everything that Moe recommended in terms of visiting ruins and cenotes and we were never disappointed. A highlight was meeting... more

Happily stayed 8 nights with partner and kid. We had room #2 and loved it. I saw all but one of the four rooms and thought they all looked great. The breakfast is full and delicious and a good way to start the day. The hosts are respectful, interesting, fun, and good cooks. From here we went to the beach... more

Everything about this place: our beautiful room, outdoor shower, cenote-style pools, the lush jungle pathways, and delicious breakfasts - was perfect. If you are looking for a relaxing, romantic place with warm hospitality, look no further. My boyfriend and I stayed at La Selva Mariposa Dec. 18 & 19 in Suite 3. It was so wonderful to fall asleep to... more

the mariposa is more beautiful in person,we had been at a large all-inclusive for 7 days and then stayed here the last 2 , i wish it had been the other way around! pay attention to mo's directions,as it is not easy to find. the large suite is comfortable and very romantic, with local sculptures and embroidered pillows. The attention... more

If you stay at La Selva Mariposa, you will need a car. And you will soon learn what "Tope" means. That means speed bumb. After we crawled over the last speed bump at Macario Gomez, and rolled into the oasis, We were pleasantly surprised. The pictures do not do it justice. All the textures and sounds. Several years ago, we... more

We decided to split our trip to Tulum between an ocean front cabana (5 nights) and Le Selva Mariposa (3 nights) to explore two different sides of Tulum. Le Selva Mariposa is a lovely "jungle retreat" perfect as a launching point for visiting certain Mayan ruins, such as Coba, to seek out cenotes, and to literally get away from it... more

1. You MUST have a car otherwise it's going to be very inconvenient and expensive to go anywhere. You'll have to wait for the cab to come from town to pick you up. We didn't see any public transportation. The B&B is about 15 minutes from the town of Tulum on a 100 Km/hr highway and about 20-25 minutes from... more

My new wife and I stayed at La Selva Mariposa for six days in early June and loved it. We did not get a chance to meet Moe & Lou but were amiably handled by guest hosts- Dave & Nancy. We stayed in room 4, the two room suite with a/c and a personal pool & deck. Every morning began... more

Just 15 minutes from Tulum nestled in the jungle is paradise. Moe and Lou have created the perfect setting where you are able to forget what day and what time it is. Far away from Conferance calls, deadlines and contracts. Our stay at La Selva Mariposa was filled with 6 days of wonderful relaxation, Yummy breakfast made by Mou and... more
