It's been quite a few months since I've stayed here and I'm still on the fence about this one. In general, everything outside of the actual room was wonderful, and everything inside the room was pretty miserable. We arrived around noon and our room was ready for us. The drive from Puerto Plata airport was nice and short, approximately 25... more

We stayed at the Mambo from 23 sept till 7th Oct. Had a great outbound flight with Thomson, arrived mid afternoon so didn't feel like we'd missed the first day. Having previously stayed at the Merengue next door we knew what to expect and we were not dissappointed. We had two fantastic relaxing weeks. The weather was very hot and... more

I enjoyed my stay at RIU Mambo with my boyfriend and another couple. Overall, for the price, it is an ubeatable deal. I wasn't impressed with the rooms but the towel art and our housekeeper made it better. If you are Dominican, don't expect to find yuca, guineitos, or mangu every day. I was a little upset that most of... more

We have just returned from 2 weeks at the Riu Mambo. Overall we had a feeling of disapointment with the hotel. Our room was extremely damp, bed sheets smelt and by the end of the 2 weeks our shoes and suitcases had started to grow mould. The plug sockets and light switches were also a bit dubious and some of... more
